Jesus’ commandment is that his disciples love one another, even to the point of laying down their
lives, if necessary. What gifts of myself—my skills and talents, my time and resources—will best
demonstrate my love for God’s people?

Increase your retirement income, receive a tax deduction,
and leave a gift to the parish. You can accomplish this by creat-ing a Charitable Gift Annuity. You need to be 65 or older and have $10,000 or more. You will receive quarterly payments for the rest of your life. The rate of return is based on your age when you establish the annuity. Some sample rates include: 65—4.7%; 70—5.1%; 75—5.8%; 80—6.8%; 85—7.8%; 90 or older 9%. To receive a personalized illustration of how this could work for you, please contact Juliet Greco at the Catholic Foundation 404.497.9440 or [email protected].

Book Club Join us on Monday, May 14, from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the School Library. We meet the second Monday of the odd-numbered months, so mark your calendars for the rest of the year. We will discuss The Hiding Place, written in 1971 based on the life of Corrie ten Boom. When the Nazis invaded Holland, Corrie ten Boom's quiet life turned into a nightmare. Because she made her home a "hiding place" for Jews, she and her family were sent to a concentration camp. Refusing to despair, Corrie discovered how Jesus can turn loss to glory! This unforgettable story will move you to tears and to joy.
We are also planning a movie night on the second Monday of every even-numbered month. Our #irst movie will be on Monday, June 11, place to be con#irmed with each meeting Here is our line-up: · June—The Hiding Place (1975) · August—Screw Tape Letters (2014) · October—Where'd You Go Bernadette (New release) · December—Bel Canto (New release)

The monthly gathering of the Lectio Divina Prayer Group is Wednesday, Wednesday, May 16 . Lectio Divina is a 'divine reading' of Scripture that helps us discover how God is speaking to our hearts. No experience is necessary to begin this form of meditative prayer, only an open heart. Please join us promptly at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Peace. You may contact Deacon Norm at 985.974.9174 for more information.
We are in need of
donations of NEW items of clothing, blankets, booties, caps, sleepers, etc., for our program. All items are dis-tributed to families in need within our community. If you have any questions, please contact Rosemary Buckley at 770.427.2509.
ADORATION Saint Joseph Parish provides Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the Chapel of Peace. Everyone is welcome at any time to stop in for prayer. You can also become a committed adorer or a volunteer. Being commit-ted means covering one hour each week of com-panionship with Jesus. In so doing you not only nourish yourself, but you provide blessings for the rest of our parishioners. Volunteers are noti#ied whenever coverage is needed because of an absence. This gift is availa-ble to everyone at all times. For more information contact Deacon Frank
