OLD COUNTRY OLIVE OIL This olive oil is a product of centuries of love and care. It is cold-pressed, unrefined, unfiltered, pure, extra virgin olive oil of the greatest quality nature has to offer. The olives are hand-picked and care-fully selected from the Abdallah Family’s groves of Tanbourit, a tiny village in the South of Leba-non. The families of this village have cared for and harvested the olives for centuries, making oil and soap for their personal use and livelihood. Rita Joubran will be at St. George on Sunday and you will have the opportunity to sample the oil March 5, 2017 after the 11:00 AM Liturgy. For more information visit: https://www.oldcountry-oliveoil.com/
PICTORIAL DIRECTORY The long awaited pictorial directory has arrived! Anyone who had their picture taken, can pick up their copy of the directory in the church foyer February 25-26, or you can get your copy from the church office.
PRAYER INTENTION FOR LENT During the season of Great Lent, we will share a prayer intention each week and be united as a community in our prayers. The prayer intention for this week is for Marriage and the Family.

EPARCHY OF OUR LADY OF LEBANON OF LOS ANGELES 2017 LENTEN APPEAL
WHAT IS THE EPARCHY OF OUR LADY OF LEBANON?
The Eparchy of Our Lady of Lebanon of Los Angeles is the Catholic
diocese for Maronite Catholics living in the United States in 34 states
stretching from West Virginia in the East to California in the West.
BISHOP
PRIESTS
In July 2013, Pope Francis
appointed A. Elias Zaidan
as the third Bishop of
the Eparchy, succeeding
Bishop Robert Shaheen.
PARISHES (AND MISSIONS) Every person in the Eparchy is a member of a local faith community –
a “parish”. A new parish is called a mission. There are 42 parishes and
missions in the Eparchy, where Maronites attend the Divine Liturgy
and receive the Sacraments. In the past two years, priests have been
sent to missions in Baton Rouge, LA; El Paso, TX; and Riverside, CA.
The priest – the “Pastor” – is the local representative of the Bishop in each parish. The Pastor serves the
parishioners on a daily basis and is a constant source of support. Bishop Elias ordained one new priest
for the Eparchy last year: Father Alex Harb. Father Harb is currently serving as Associate Pastor at Saint
Maron Parish in Cleveland, OH.
SEMINARIANS Before becoming a priest, a man must study for several (usually five) years, during which time he is called a “seminarian”. Bishop
Elias is responsible for educating the seminarians to ensure there will be good priests in the future. When the seminarians are
ready, Bishop Elias ordains them as priests and sends them to parishes. The Eparchy currently has 8 seminarians.
