SAINT BRIDGET PARISH MAYNARD, MASSACHUSETTS

This St. Patrick’s Day, we celebrate the saint who, like the Life Teen

program, brings others to Christ. Over the last ten years, participation in the Life Teen program has resulted in 22 vocations to the priesthood in our Archdiocese and a stronger faith life for thousands of young adults. This important youth program is one of more than 50 ministries that rely on your support of the 2019 Catholic Appeal. If you haven’t

given yet and would like to, envelopes can be found in the pews and the back of the church.

CATHOLIC CHARITIES COLLECTION $1, 204.00

Second Sunday of Lent

Luke’s account of the Transfiguration is rich with meaning. Peter recognizes this special moment with Jesus: “Master, it

is good that we are here.” We don’t have to go up the mountain to be with Jesus. We can say those very words of Peter every

day when we are united with Jesus through sacraments and daily prayer. Listen to what God says, not just to the Apostles, that were on that mountain, but to each of us: “This is my chosen

Son, listen to Him.” Pray in a special way this Lent to hear Jesus’ voice and pray particularly for the courage to share your faith

with others. Introduce a friend to Jesus.

St Bridget welcomes Keeley Alexis Carnabucci, Beau William Pavone and Rhys Neil Shailer.

May God bless them.

MINISTRIES OF THE MONTH We will be featuring two or three various ministries each month throughout the year that we encourage our parishioners to join. This month we feature: Saint Vincent de Paul: Members of the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul meet monthly to assist the needs of the poor in Maynard. Members must exhibit a sincere and strong desire to assist the poor without judgment and with genuine compassion and empathy for the plight of their conditions, regardless of circumstances. Confide- tiality of the friends we assist is paramount. Meetings include prayer, spiritual reflection, committee reports, and review of minutes, cases, and upcoming activities. Teams of two are formed monthly for personal home visits to our friends request- ing assistance. Associate and contributing members unable to visit or meet monthly are also welcome. Contact the Parish Office and a member will return your call. Saint Bridget Youth Group: The goal of our youth programs is to foster the personal and spiritual growth of each young person, through a blend of social, spiritual, and service activities, working closely with our director of Religious Education. A typical year involves Youth Masses, prayer opportunities, hunger walk, and service projects; and gaming, sports, rollerblade, adventure, and other fun social activities. Open to all in grades 6-10, we seek adult leaders an chaperones who exhibit a strong desire to work with youth and to treat them always with respect, care, dignity, and compassion while ensuring their safety and well-being during all events.
