Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

Ready – start – go! This week we welcome back our young people to the community of Saint Anselm School. We are welcoming an additional 65 new students to Saint Anselm School – A place where we are believers, learners, and friends in Jesus! Our enrollment has grown to just over 240 students for this current school year. And how proud we are to welcome, as I have stated before, our new principal to Saint Anselm – Mr. Seamus Mee, and also, we welcome three new faculty members to our school: Theresa Rue our new Pre-K 3 teacher, Kaitlyn McGlinn who will be our additional Kindergarten teacher {two classrooms this year!}, and Jennifer Wermuth who will be our Director of After School Cares…We are celebrating these new additions to our faculty and administration, and always are a place where more are welcome! Please know we have a wonderful school where children learn, grow, and excel in their understanding of our world and of our Lord Jesus! Let us continue to pray for our new principal, faculty, and staff as they begin a new year of teaching and forming these young disciples of the Lord. I am sure you know, and you will see this coming school year, that we have a legacy of alumni who send their children & grandchildren to our school. We will be premiering those current students who are 2nd and 3rd generation Saint Anselm students sometime later in the year. We are proud to be a place where many generations are formed in God’s eternal love! And let us pray that the COVID variant dies out and we can again offer so many wonderful after-school opportunities and extracurriculars to our students of Saint Anselm! We are a school that loves the Arts, Music, Dance and so many more things! COME & SEE!

This weekend we hear a Gospel that is close to my heart. I read this passage at Baptisms – because what Jesus does, I imitate as a minister of His commandment of love – to bring little ones closer to the Heart of our Lord Jesus. One of the many parts of the Baptismal Rites that Fr Large and I and our deacons celebrate is the EPHPHATHA – a Greek word that is a command – “Be Opened!” Our Savior utters this command to open the eyes and ears of a man who is born deaf and unable to speak clearly. We who celebrate baptisms do the same, blessing the ears and mouths of the little ones we unite to the Body of Christ, His Church at baptisms. The ears, eyes, and mouths are conduits where the grace of God can enter and leave. How many times in each of our lives have we been touched by God by seeing a minor miracle of His love or experienced a splendid liturgy that filled us with joyous music and sung prayers, or maybe have heard a passage or line from the Scriptures that radically changed our direction of living. God gave us the five senses, not only to experience His beauty filled creation, but also to know Him and Love Him more each day of our lives. And this is the challenge, to do what the people exclaim of the Lord in our Gospel this weekend – “He has done all things well – He makes the deaf hear and the mute to speak!”. May we open the eyes, ears, and minds of all those we encounter this week to know God. Now I will share a couple lines of a prayer Mother and now Saint Teresa of Calcutta prayed every day:

DEAR JESUS, HELP ME TO SPREAD YOUR FRAGRANCE EVERYWHERE I GO.

FLOOD MY SOUL WITH YOUR SPIRIT AND LIFE. PENETRATE AND POSSESS MY WHOLE BEING SO UTTERLY,

THAT MY LIFE MAY ONLY BE A RADIANCE OF YOURS. SHINE THROUGH ME, AND BE SO IN ME

THAT EVERY SOUL I COME IN CONTACT WITH MAY FEEL YOUR PRESENCE IN MY SOUL.

LET THEM LOOK UP AND SEE NO LONGER ME, BUT ONLY JESUS!

May Jesus be in our hearts and minds this week as become learners, believers, and friends of Jesus! God bless you always!

+Father Rossi

Dear Friends –

Thank you so much for your consideration and signing up to attend a Pilgrimage to Ireland with me, sponsored by UniTours, Inc. The original dates were October 10 – 19 of this fall. Due to the COVID Variant and some struggles this fall, our tour consultant and I have agreed it is wisest and best to postpone our pilgrimage until next October of 2022. I am working on dates with UniTours and once we have agreed on 10 consecutive days, I will email all of you with that information. I wanted to send this brief letter to explain why we have chosen to postpone our trip. I had hoped that by the fall COVID’s damage would be over and we could return to some normality. However, it seems the variant is spreading still, and Ireland has currently shut its doors to visitors from overseas. I am afraid that, as we quickly approach our original dates, we will be turned away. So, postponing seems the most reasonable and just solution to the issues facing our group. If you wish to stay signed up and transfer your deposit to the new pilgrimage, reach out to Unitours and let them know that soon. Everyone is entitled to a refund regardless of insurance because the cancellation is due to the COVID Pandemic – however I would hope that you would be willing to still tour and pray with me in Ireland next fall. Let us pray that this variant quickly disappears and we can return to the normalcy of pre-2019.

Please email me at the address below if you have any immediate issues and I can then reach out to our tour consultant with any serious questions that I cannot answer. May the Lord bless you and your loved ones, stay safe and healthy! Thank you for your consideration of joining me in Ireland - may the Lord make it possible to go next year; may Our Lady of Knock intercede for all our intentions!

Sincerely Yours in Christ, Father Rossi Pastor [email protected]

Vincentian Message…

In today’s Gospel, we hear how Jesus “makes the deaf hear and the mute speak!” In living the gospel, we must open our ears to hear and recognize all the everyday opportunities for making God’s presence known especially to those who are poor and suffering. On September 9, the Church also celebrates the feast of Blessed Frederic Ozanam, the founder of the Society of St. Vincent DePaul. Frederic heard the call of Jesus to love and serve those who are suffering. Is there a family you know who needs assistance? Please call the Society of St. Vincent DePaul so that, together, we can “make God’s presence known” to those who are suffering and poor.
