Update on Building Projects It’s been a busy summer at Saint Andrews! The electrical upgrades in the kitchen and Bethany Room are almost finished. Work on the ramp project is progressing. The ramp and the roof over the entrance are nearly done. The new door should be installed in the next few weeks. August ended with the happy sound of cool air being blown into the sanctuary. The new air condi-tioning system is up and running! While the building projects will soon be completed, the task of paying for them has just begun. Here’s where we stand:

Project Donations to Date Target Amount % Raised Ramp Fund $19,370 $40,000 48.43 % A/C Fund $ 4,797 $80,000 6 % Electrical Fund $ 1,532 $ 5,000 30.60 %

Total $25,699 $125,000 20.56 %

Thank you for your generous and faithful giving to help fund these important projects!

September First Sunday Mission Offering Our First Sunday Mission Offering in September will be used to support Naveen John Raj, our sponsored child at the Indo-American Home for Children. Naveen is 15 years old and has been

at the home since 2007. His two younger brothers, Nabeesh (13 years old) and Narsesh (11 years old), also live there. The boys have no father and their family is very poor. Naveen likes to read, play cricket, and enjoys helping in the gardens. His birth-day is September 19th. He recently wrote:

Dear Sponsor Parents, How are you? I am fine here. I am studying well. I am going to school regularly. I am going to church every Sunday and class. You pray for me. I am also praying for you . . . I am here watering the plants. Daily, I take care of plants and trees. I am very happy.

Here I have many friends. I am playing with them. I pray for us daily. Here I am concentrating on extra studies like computer and key board. So I like very much to stay here. . . . I thank you for your support. I will go to my house for annual examination holidays. I feel very happy. I will enjoy and play with my village friends. . . . Thanking you. Yours faithfully, Naveen John Raj

To help sponsor Naveen, simply mark your check “Sponsored Child” or use a First Sun-

day Mission Offering Envelope from the pew racks. Please keep Naveen and his broth-ers in your prayers, as well as our two former sponsored children, Kowsalya and Dison. Thank you!

Join us on an exciting journey of fun and adventure as we explore some of the

stories Jesus told. Come discover what a mustard seed, a lost sheep, some

yeast, a great feast, a widow, a farmer, and a field can teach us about loving

God and how much God loves us!

Our expedition begins at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, October 9, and will include

stops for dinner, music, a lesson, craft, games, and lots of fun.

Everyone in preschool through 5th grade is invited.

Bring a friend and come!

A Request from Some of Our Younger Members

As many of you know, during the school year, we meet on Wednesday evenings for KICK. After

a long day of school, some of us have only a few minutes to stop at home before we come to

church for a full evening of chimes, music and a Bible lesson. Some of us don’t have time to go

home at all. So we love being able to have dinner together in the Memorial Room before all

our activities begin. Sharing a meal and fellowship is one of our favorite parts of KICK and

that’s why we need your help!

Could you feed us one Wednesday evening during the school year? That's right . . . FEED

US! We aren't hard to please . . . chicken nuggets, hot dogs, corn dogs, and mac and cheese

are always a hit. We LOVE breakfast for dinner. Pizza (frozen or delivery) works too. Throw

in a beverage (and sometimes even a treat) and dinner is served. It need not be fancy, just

something warm to fill our hungry tummies!

A sign-up sheet will be available in the Narthex. If you have any questions, please feel free to

contact Mrs. Haughey or talk to any of our moms. On a typical Wednesday evening, there are

10-15 children and youth. Dinner is served at 5:00 pm.

Thanks so much for your love, support, and most of all your prayers for us as we grow as

Christians. We feel blessed to call you all our church family!
