Sun Island is one of worlds biggest projects in solar collectors.

520 solar collectors, 7000 m2 surface area of collectors

15000 m2 total surface area of solar island 2700 households connected 10% of heating generated in the solar island 9750 Gigajoules of energy supplied annually More than 50% CO2 reduction

Water in the solar collectors is heated by the sun. The heated water will then be pumped directly into the district heating network that will supply heating and hot tap water to the new residential area Noorderplassen West. This process is controlled by Saia®PCDs
