Dynamic Simulation with ARIS Business Simulator (ABS)

Description: How do you establish efficient processes? How do you know what resources are required to execute a process or where bottlenecks will arise during process execution? How do you identify which process variants are better than others before they are actually implemented? How many resources do you need for new processes? These questions can be answered by analyzing the dynamic behavior of processes. This is where ARIS Business Simulator comes into play, with its Web-based simulation of business processes. By enabling evaluation of both executability and efficiency, the software supports decision-making in re-engineering, benchmarking, and resource planning. ARIS Business Simulator allows both existing and new processes to be analyzed and improved. The application collects a variety of information during a simulation run that enables the behavior of processes to be assessed. The results are presented in the form of color animation, statistics and charts. Data provided includes throughput and wait times, total processing time, costs, weaknesses, as well as resource requirements and utilization. Simulation of business processes provides information about the executability of processes, process weaknesses and resource bottlenecks. In the run-up to cost intensive process changes, the simulated process performance indicators can be used to evaluate various alternatives and carry out true-to-life benchmarking. The course covers possible application scenarios for ARIS Business Simulator and the procedure for simulating your business processes.

ARIS Test Designer—a functionality of ARIS Business Architect for SAP, starting Version 7.1.SR 8—supports the creation of test scenarios in SAP projects. Business processes that have been created and used for a blueprint and synchronized with SAP® Solution Manager can be re-used in the test phase by transforming them to end-to-end scenarios. If you have processes with multiple decisions (different directions within one model), you can graphically capture each path and maintain it as a single test case and even create test cases across multiple process models via process interfaces. These results can again be synchronized to a new Solution Manager project, which is the base for SAP’s test workbench to support the execution of tests. In addition the user can use existing report formats to create documentation required for the tester. This training will give you an introduction of how to use ARIS Test Designer functionality in your project for creating test cases. You will learn different ways of creating test cases, test objects and how to define an end to end test path. Once the test path is created, the training material also covers what attributes can be maintained and how to extract this information out from the test case model into an excel using a define report at the model level. The course will also teach users how to link the reports to the test. Once the link is complete the material will teach how to upload test cases into the SAP Solution Manager environment.

Target groups: SAP project member responsible for defining integration tests

Extensions: The following courses are proposed for continuing education:•Business Process Modeling with ARIS (ABD)

Duration:1 day

Content:•Introduction and challenges in test management - What are common problems - How can ARIS help •Overview & concept of ARIS Test Designer - Positioning of new feature - Concept and steps to use it •Test case creation - Insert existing process structure - Define test path capturing - Manage test cases •Create test reports - Microsoft® Excel® report - Microsoft® Word/PDF report •Loading test cases into SAP Solution Manager

The BPE Roundtrip Experience

Note: Private, onsite only Description: Experience how a real closed-loop process life cycle is supported by a methodology on one platform of Software AG products. The ultimate way enabling Business Process Excellence (BPE). A work-shop to hear, see and experience how the different products of Software AG can support you in an integrated context to achieve your goal of BPE. You will learn what BPM is all about, and how the different components of ARIS and webMethods can support this in a phased and integrated manner. You will experience that you can start small and easily, ending into an integrated BPM platform after months all depending on your own ambition and needs. The power of this workshop lies in its holistic approach, simplicity and broad target audience. These ingredients make the workshop of added value to your organization at all levels.

Target groups: The BPE Roundtrip Experience is designed for everyone who is interested or engaged in process improvement, risk & compliance management, and/or IT implementations; ranging from senior or middle management, architects, team leads and quality managers to project managers, process consultants, business analysts and IT managers.

Topics: Ideal as kick-off for Process Management programs and BPE Roadmap Assessments. You have streamlined your organization and processes to the best of your knowledge. You have reduced costs wherever you can. But somehow your organization is still fragmented and not integrated. There is a lot happening around business process management and continuous improvement. Have you ever wondered what these topics are really about, and how this can affect your organization? The BPE Roundtrip Experience workshop will show you the easiness and simplicity of experiencing process improvement along the cycle. The Goal:“To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often.” Winston Churchill (1874 - 1965) Knowing your business processes these days is not good enough. To compete in a changing world, with continuously changing rules and regulation, you need a framework which can support you in design, implement, monitor/ measure/

control, and redesign of your business processes and supporting IT applications. The ability to improve continuously and to adapt to the changing environment in a fast way is a must for every organization. During this workshop we will look in detail to these two aspects of change, and we will show you how the different software products/ components of Software AG can support you in building a BPE framework (or just a part of it).The workshop is particularly suited to create management awareness, and to jumpstart a BPE initiative. The workshop has several learning objectives: •Find out what the different components of ARIS and web-Methods are, and how they can support you in building your own BPM platform •Experience how easy you can set up the different software components of Software AG •Understand what is required to deliver continuous improve-ment, and change management

Business Process Excellence: In this workshop we will use the term BPE often. BPE is the ultimate goal of Business Process Management (BPM). BPM is a holistic management approach to align all aspects in the organization with the wants and needs of its customers. It promotes business effectiveness and efficiency while striving for innovation, flexibility, and integration with technology. BPM attempts to improve processes continuously. It can therefore be described as a process optimization process. BPM enables organizations to be more efficient, more effective and more capable of change than a functionally focused, traditional hierarchical management approach. BPM, according to Software AG, follows different phases; Strategize, Design, Implement, Compose, Execute, and Monitor & Control.
