Led multiple strategic planning efforts for hospitals, health system, physician entities,insurers, management organizations, technology firms, academic institutions, trade associa-tions, etc.Managed the selection of an electronic medical record information system on behalf of aprovider network representing over 100 physicians across 60 health care delivery sites.Developed a comprehensive Preferred Provider Network for a large eastern insurer.Managed development of a comprehensive Information Systems Strategic Plan for a multi-entity health system. Led the effort to select the practice management and managed caresystems for the client.Acted in a turnaround role as Chief Operating Officer for a health care information serv-ices and outsourcing firm. Role included deployment of new mission-critical transaction tech-nology and redesign of key operational infrastructure.Managed the North American sales and account management activities of an internationalhealth care technology firm offering clinical decision support and multi-media researchmanagement applications, predominantly targeting the Medical School/Academic Health Systemmarket in the U.S. and Canada.Developed business plan for creation of new insurance services subsidiary for largeinsurer.Led a comprehensive review and redesign effort in the critical areas of finance, medicalmanagement and network management for one of the largest Medicaid Health Plans in theSoutheast.Acted as the interim Chief Marketing Officer for a health plan serving 125,000 membersin the Southeast U.S. Responsible for re-configuration of the sales and marketing departmentand the development of a strategy that increased enrollment by 20% in six months.Led development of a comprehensive Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) product foran insurance organization in the southeast. PPO was created as a licensed product, and servedthe commercial and occupational health components of the insurer’s business.Led economic analysis of the physician practice environment and its affect on health careaccess in Maryland.Major contributor to a landmark economic study analyzing the impending medical malprac-tice crisis in Maryland.Led the development of numerous large Independent Physician Associations (IPAs) andother physician organizations, including physician network development and contracting,third party contracting, ancillary network contracting, development of payment and incentivesystems, and implementation of administrative and technology infrastructure.Directed and managed an effort to reengineer business processes for a major multi-specialty group practice. Changes in process flow led to a reduction in FTE staff and costs, anincrease in both patient and staff satisfaction, and a significant decrease in days in receivables(from 110 to 60 days in receivables in 4 months). In addition, initiated the development of aStrategic Plan to position the organization for success.
