SAFETY IN ACTION 2018

Leadership Summit

32

What we’re discussing in 2018This year, we focus on one of today’s most elusive and critical safety issues: serious injuries and fatality (SIF) prevention. Join us for a discussion that will deepen your understanding of safety practice and change how you approach serious events in your organization.

The SIF Prevention ChallengeMost recent data show a 7% increase in workplace fatalities, even as overall injury numbers continue to decline. Despite known connections to all types of injury and accident prevention, these connections are not well understood. We unpack the research to build a foundation for a more effective approach.

The View from the FieldMark Crelia, corporate manager HSE at Helmerich & Payne, and Jennifer Swaim, global VP HSE at Terex, offer their unique perspectives of the real-world challenges of serious injury prevention in a live working environment – and share the practices they’ve used to change the equation.

Managing Barriers to Sustainable SIF PreventionWhile every organization is unique, there are common barriers in incident investigation, field verification, and even the sense of urgency within a culture that leaders must know how to address. In small group working sessions, you’ll develop practical actions to manage these and other barriers to SIF prevention.

The Leadership Summit Mission

Leaders play a critical role in the safety of their organizations.

Yet there are few learning opportunities that support their

unique role and responsibility.

The Leadership Summit offers leaders an exclusive meeting

place of peers and ideas. Through discussion, expert analysis,

and powerful stories, insight meets experience and

understanding inspires action.

Explore one of today’s most critical safety issues — and emerge

with renewed purpose and new ideas. An emphasis on both the

strategic and practical aspects of leading safety make the Safety

in Action Leadership Summit the only event of its kind.
