Participants will learn an assortment of safety techniques from various community agencies, including personnel from local Police, Fire, and EMS departments. Designed to offer safety techniques and information to those who may be interested in babysitting. Participants will also receive instruction in basic first aid. The program is facilitated by the Queensbury Fire Marshal’s Office and the Parks & Recreation Department.

Creative Snowflakes!The talented and delightful TANG educators will inspire and help us to create sensational snowflakes! They will present incredible images to motivate the creative pro-cess. We will make colorful and unique snowflakes made out of a variety of unusual materials! The snowy sky is the limit!

This hands-on art project will unleash the POWER of each child’s CREATIVITY!

These engaging and amazing programs will not only enrich your child’s intel-lectual curiosity; but also, get him or her excited about science and learning! Children will use analytical and critical thinking skills and explore topics in the science world. The kids will be having so much fun, they won’t even realize they are learning!

We are thrilled to partner with Mad Science of the Capital District to offer the following outstanding and unique science programs! All programs are curric-ulum correlated and meet S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) objectives. Professional equipment and materials will be used. All supplies are included. These programs will encourage team-building, as we work collaboratively to solve real-world S.T.E.M. problems!

All Mad Science educators hold Bachelor’s Degrees in S.T.E.M.

Check out shapes and why they are so strong! Investigate arches and geodesic domes. Discover why an egg’s shape is so strong and how you can find this shape in buildings. Test loads and build some bridges when you put on an engi-neer’s hat and learn about structures. True hands-on science fun!

How can you build the strongest bridge? Work together with your fellow civil engineers to build and test different bridge designs. Then use what you have learned to create the strongest bridge possible! Are you up for the challenge?

This course introduces students to the basics of flight and aerodynamics. During this workshop, children will explore the four basic forces behind aerodynamics, which include lift, thrust, gravity, and drag. In addition, the students will get to test out their own Delta Dart make-shift planes in order to learn more about the various plane designs and how they relate to the four forces. Towards the end of the workshop, students will get the chance to build a Sky Hawk Foam plane to take home! Up, up, and away!
