• Prior to the season start to correct permanent problems

• At the beginning of each game day to evaluate field conditions (taking into account weather)

• Before each game to remove hazards created by debris or foreign objects left behind. The referee does this.

In southern California, a 15-year old youth soccer player was forced to go to the hospital when, after sustaining a cut on his arm after a foul, his team’s First Aid kit was found to contain no bandages, and the antiseptic cream had expired four years before. The player was taken to the hospital by his mother. The Regional Commissioner refused to comment on the Region’s practices for inspecting team medical kits.

An Area was holding a Halloween event for all the families within the Area.  A hay ride – flatbed trailer pulled by a tractor – was in full swing.  However on one of the circuits the tractor driver misjudged a turn and the trailer side-swiped a State Trooper vehicle parked on the side of the road.  The damage was under $2000 but our insurance company now directly excludes hay and tractor rides.

True or False A Chicago, Illinois court dismissed a

lawsuit brought on behalf of a 12 year old girl who was injured playing soccer in an interregional AYSO soccer game on a city owned field. The court rejected the parents’ insurance claim on the grounds that the child had never actually registered with the Region. Despite this fact, the girl was issued a uniform and permitted to play.
