SOALAN / QUESTION

Background

OSH management system standard has been widely used as an approach and strategy

towards improving the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) standards at the workplace. It

is a voluntary program for the organization to ensure a comprehensive and systematic

system in place for the organization to adopt as self regulations standard or certification by

recognized body.

Your Task

You have been hired as Safety officer and your role is to ensure the organization obtain the

OHSAS18001:2007 certification within a year. You are required to choose any Five (5)

components or elements of the standard, interpret, explain and provide supporting

documents to ensure compliance and effective implementation of the system.

Assessment Criteria

Choose minimum 5 elements of OHSAS18001:2007 standard

Describe what the standard says and interpret the requirements of standard

Provide supporting documents to support the compliance. For example, if you have

defined the requirements of environmental policy to be established in order to meet

Element 4.2 of OHSAS18001, policy shall be attached as appendix. This shall also

apply to others such as procedures, forms, training etc
