    Welcome!

    This Installation Guide willhelp you to establish thenecessary hardwarerequirements to run the

    installation to run theinstallation of the SafeSYTprograms. Once installed,this section also will walk youthrough the necessary stepsto configure and establishyour account settings.

    The Installation and Set UpPackage you have justdownloaded consists of twoparts:

    First, this Manual, intended toserve as an Installation Guideof the software modules.

    Second, the package alsocontains a tutorial withexamples to set up and beginusing SafeSYT today.

    System Requirements1. Hardware Requirements

    Before you begin installation of Safe SYT , your Hytera Radios and your PC should be properlyconfigured. You should have the following connected:

    PC with Internet Access and USB Port Availability NOTE: If your computer is running a Windows Vista or 7 operating system, you MUSTensure that the User Account Controls are turned off. When using Windows XP

    Professional, Vista or 7, the Firewall MUST be disabled. In the event that you require theFirewall to remain active, please contact your SafeSYT Sales Person, reference the Forumonline or communicate with SafeSYT Tech Support to establish your necessary work-around.

    Control Station Radio(s) NOTE: Depending on your radio system size, you may need more than one control station.They are provided by your Channel Partner and are connected with a custom USB cable toyour PC.

    USB Control Station Cable NOTE: The USB Connector Cable is custom made and does NOT come with your ControlStation Radio(s). The Cable can be provided to you by either your Channel Partner or bySafeSYT upon request.

    USB Registration Dongle NOTE: One Dongle is included with the Software Package purchase.

    2. Microsoft .Net Framework

    Safe SYT requires Microsoft.NET Framework 4.0 (or higher). If your computer does not currently operatewith this version (or higher), it can be downloaded directly from Microsoft's site via the links provided here.Please upgrade your operating system first, if needed, before continuing.

    3. Hytera DMR Radio Drivers

    Prior to connecting any Hytera Radio to your PC, please be sure to download the Hytera DMR RadioDrivers. This will ensure that your computer recognizes the control station(s)radios when linked to the computer.

    Radio Dealers can download the Hytera Radio Drivers from the Hytera Dealer Portal. [Fig. 1.2

    Configuration of Hytera RadioThis step requires the Hytera DMR Programming Software.

    1. Configure Control Station(s)

    General Settings

    In this section, the general settings of the control station should be configured as follows:

    A control station must have a Radio ID .[Fig. 2.1] shows a Radio ID of 1, however, this can be any number that you choose.

    NOTE: If there are multiple control stations connected to the PC, ALL control stations must have thesame Radio ID . Also, GPS must NOT be checked. Since the control station will be in a fixed location,there is no need to enable GPS.

    In this section, the network settings of the control station should be configured as follows:

    The control station must have a Radio IP address in the range of 192.0.0.1-222.255.255.253. Radio IPand Forward to PC must be enabled for the control station. [Fig. 2.2] shows an IP address of192.168.10.1, however this may be different, depending on your configuration.

    A. Radio Control Station IPIP is the communication protocol used for transferring data in the exchange network. It supportscommunication between devices (for example, the radio and PC) solely based on a unique globaladdress. This parameter is the IP address for the radio to communicate with PC, and can serve asthe default gateway address in the wired network for PC.

    Note:- This feature is available for Digital mode only.- When the option "Forward To PC" is checked, it is recommended to set the last segment of

    this option to 1 (such as 192.168.1.1, 192.168.2.1 and 192.168.3.1)

    B. Forward To PCThis parameter can determine whether to forward the received data to the connected PC. Thisoption must be checked if the radio serves as the control station connected to PC. [Fig. 2.3]

    Options:Enable: The radio transmits or receives as the control station connected to PC .Disable: The radio transmits or receives as other common terminals.

    Default:Disable

    Note:- This feature is available for Digital mode only- If there are multiple control stations, each control station must be programmed with a different

    Radio IP address.

    Configure Subscriber Radio

    1. General Settings

    In this section, the General Settings of the Subscriber radio should be configured as follows:

    A Subscriber radio MUST have a Radio ID .[Fig. 3.1] shows a Radio ID of 1000, however, this can be any number that you choose.

    NOTE: ALL Subscriber radios must have a unique Radio ID .The Subscriber radio must have GPS enabled in order to transmit location data.

    2. Network Settings

    In this section, the network settings of the Subscriber radio should be configured as follows:

    The Subscriber radio does not need to have different Radio IP addresses because it does not transmit datawith this address. NOTE: The Subscriber radio MUST have Forward to PC disabled and the same Radio

    ID of the control station in ARS Radio ID .

    [Fig. 3.2] shows the Network Settings for a Subscriber radio.

    3. Channel Settings

    The last important configuration for the Subscriber radio should take place in the channel settings.

    NOTE: The Subscriber radio MUST have RRS enabled. This is responsible for transmitting presencenotification to the Hytera Gateway Application.

    Fig. 3.3 shows this important information for a Subscriber radio.

    Once you have verified your system compatibility and have installed the necessary radio drivers, youcan proceed with installing Safe SYT and configuring the Administrator/Default accounts. To open theSafe SYT Installer, access the file menu and double click on SafeSYT.exe to launch the installation

    program. [Fig 4.1]

    2. Run Safe SYT Installer

    Before installing the software, the Administrator and Default User passwords must be established. Thescreen will prompt you for entry under the Database heading. Please enter a valid password for each oryou may leave the word password as your default. Make note of your password for future reference.

    Next, select the installation folder path. For most installations, the default location shown is acceptable.[Fig 4.2]

    Then, click on the INSTALL button.When the installation has completed, exit the Installer Wizard.

    The following Icons will then be displayed on your desktop:

    3. USB Registration Dongle

    Prior to launching the Safe SYT Application, you will need to connect your USB Registration dongle intoany available USB port on the same PC that the Application Server Program will be running.

    If you do not have a USB Registration Dongle, the Safe SYT Application will still work, however, it willrun only in a demonstration mode that expires after 30 days.

    4. Application Server Program

    The Application Server Program is responsible for establishing a connection to the database. Once yourRegistration Dongle is in place, launch the Application Server Program by double clicking the icon foundon your desktop. [Fig 4.3] NOTE: In order for SafeSYT to work properly, the Application ServerProgram MUST run simultaneously. The Application may be minimized in your toolbar once launched.

    NOTE: [Fig. 4.4] shows the Application Server running without a USB Registration dongle.

    NOTE: [Fig. 4.5] shows the Application Server running with a USB Registration dongle.

    The Administrative Module Program is responsible for configuring all other Safe SYT applications. Youare able to configure the active Users, Radio Units and GPS settings, your Gateway and Registrationsettings.

    Launch the Administrative Module Program by double clicking the icon found on your desktop. [Fig 4.6]

    In the log-in window [Fig. 4.7], select the language setting you prefer. The default language is English.The default password is: password (lower case), unless changed when installed. Refer back to [Fig 4.2].

    5. Administrative Module

    i. Adding Users

    To add a new user, navigate along the menu options at the top of the open window to the Users Tab,click to view the Users Tab options. To add a user, click Add (+) . [Fig 4.8]

    This will open a new entry window, shown below [Fig. 4.9]. Enter a valid Login Name , Password , First and Last Names , then click the Add button.

    5. Administrative Module

    ii. Adding Unit Groups

    To add a new unit, navigate along the menu options at the top of the open window to the Units Tab,click to view the Unit Tab options.

    To establish a Group, click Add (+)Group. In the Group window, assign a name, such as "Trucks" and

    click Add Group . [Fig 4.10 and 4.10.A]

    iii. Adding Individual Units

    To add a unit, click Add (+)Unit for an individual unit. Shown in [Fig. 4.11].

    In the Add Uni t window, shown below [Fig. 4.11.A], enter the Radio ID (given when radio is properlyconfigured) , Unit Name , User , GPS Reporting Interval (in seconds), Group and a Unit Icon .

    NOTE: The Unit Name is used to describe the Subscriber radio.

    iv. Gateway Setup

    This section will describe how to configure the control station(s) with its zones and channels.

    Navigate along the menu options at the top of the open window to the Gateways tab, click to view theGateways Tab options. This window has four columns. Each column must be configured properly in

    order for the Hytera Gateway application to use the control station correctly.

    The first column, Add New Gateway, should have the IP address where the Hytera Gateway applicationwill run.

    The second column, Add New Radio Gateway , should be configured with the IP address and Radio IDof the control station that will be connected to the PC.

    [Fig. 4.12] below shows an example of the configuration of a control station with an IP address of192.168.10.1 and a Radio ID of 100.

    Gateway & SafeSYT Registration Setup

    This section will describe the steps to properly configure the registration settings for the Hytera Gatewayand SafeSYT Applications.

    Navigate along the menu options at the top of the open window to the Registration tab, click to view the Registration Tab options.

    The first column, Gateway , is responsible for the registration of the Hytera Gateway application. In this

    column, add the IP address of the location of the Hytera Gateway application. The figure below,[Fig. 5.1] displays the setup for a Hytera Gateway application that is run locally on that PC.

    The second column, SafeSYT, is responsible for the registration of the SafeSYT clients. To add aSafeSYT client, enter the IP address of the location of the SafeSYT client. Select the check boxes foreach tab you wish to have active on that client.

    [Fig. 5.2] shows the registration of a SafeSYT client, run locally, displaying Google Maps and all tabsactivated.

    Hytera Gateway Application

    The Hytera Gateway Application is responsible for the transmission of voice and data between thecontrol station(s) and subscriber radios.

    Launch the Hytera Gateway Application Program by double clicking the icon found on your desktop.[Fig. 6.1]

    [Fig. 6.2] shows the user interface of the Hytera Gateway Application.

    NOTE: The Hytera Gateway Application MUST be running in order to receive any data from thesubscriber radios. The Application may be minimized in your toolbar once launched.

    Launch the SafeSYT Application Program by double clicking the icon found on your desktop.[Fig 7.1]

    [Fig. 7.2] shows the SafeSYT login screen. Select the login user name and password.Click the Login button.
