POSADAS The Organización Hispana would like to invite you to the Posadas. Posadas are a beautiful and spiritual Christmas tradition that begins on Friday, December 16, at 6 p.m., and continues every night until December 23. On Friday, December 16, the Posada will be held at Sacred Hearth Church. On Sunday, December 18 there will be a special performance of the “Pastorela” a play about the shepherds following the star of Bethlehem to find the Christ Child. The play and the Posada will begin at 7 p.m. in Bonaventure Hall. YOUNG MEN’S 43RD ANNUAL ESSAY CONTEST Catholic students from 7th to 12th grade are invited to participate in the Young Men’s Annual Essay Contest. Prizes range from $75 to $1,000. There will be 13 winners in each of two levels. Deadline for the essay submission is January 15, 2017. If you are interested, please pick up an entry form at the Sacred Heart Parish office.

RECONCILIATION SERVICES Advent is a time of preparation to receive the Lord joyfully at Christmas. One way to prepare ourselves is by celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Our parish has a reconciliation service on Thursday, December 15 (bilingual), beginning at 7 p.m. It is a time of preparation to receive the Lord. POSADAS La Organizacion Hispana los invita a las Posadas. Las Posadas son una tradicion muy bonita del Espiritu Navideno que comi-enza el Viernes 16 de diciembre a las 6 p.m. en la iglesia hasta el 23 de diciembre. El Viernes 16 de diciembre la Posada se llevara a cabo en la Iglesia Sagrado Corazon. El domingo 18 de diciembre empezamos a las 7 p.m., en el salon Buenaventura porque tendremos una presentacion espcial con la pastorela, una obra donde los pastores siguen la Estrella de Belen para encontrar al nino Jesus. Dear Parishioners, For the last five years we have dreamed, researched needs, designed plans and fundraised. Many of you have participated in most if not all of these activities. Through donations and pledges, including the Church for Tomorrow grant, the total funds raised are $2.8 million, but more is needed. We have worked diligently to complete Phase 1. The parish preschool has been relocated and now the future site is ready for construction. This beautiful new building has many possible uses. The St. Vincent de Paul Community Life Center will allow us to have room to share our faith, as our community grows. On November 21, Simile Construction submitted to the City of Patterson the complete set of construction plans. We will now work with Simile to determine the construction cost of the facility. Look for a Town Hall reception this spring were the Building Fund Committee will report the information.

At this time, I am asking that you prayerfully consider participating in this effort. If you have already given, please consider a pledge renewal or an additional gift. In the pews, you will see a donation envelope. The self-addressed envelope can be mailed or dropped in the collection basket any Sunday. I ask you to please reflect back on the gifts God has given you when making your decision. The success of this project will ensure a lasting legacy for the future of our parish community. I thank you for all that you do for our parish and each of you for sharing your gifts and talents. With the Lord’s help and the gener-osity of parishioners like you, our new facility will provide a place for many generations to come. Queridos feligreses, Durante los ultimos cinco anos hemos sonado, investigo las necesidades, disenado planes y recaudado fondos. Muchos de ustedes han particado en la mayoría, si no todas, de estas actividades. A través de donaciones y promesas de contribuciones, incluyendo la subvencion de la Iglescia para mañana, el total de fondos recaudados son de 2,8 milliones de dólares, pero se necesita mas.
