PALM SUNDAY

2019 Mass Book PLEASE NOTE! The 2019 Mass Intention Book will

open on Tuesday, April 3, 2018. Masses can be booked in

person, or by phone, after 9:00 a.m. beginning on April 3.

In an effort to be fair to all, and to fill as many families’ re-quests as possible, please follow these guidelines:

• Limit 2 Masses per family for the first month the book is open.

• Only one weekday Mass and one weekend Mass

Easter Lilies Those wishing to donate Easter lilies in memory of loved ones, are asked to drop them off directly to the church on Holy Thursday (3/29) or Good Friday (3/30) between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. If possible, we ask that the plants be wrapped in gold foil with a white bow. Thank you.

Easter Church Cleaning and Decorating Anyone who is interested in helping to clean and decorate the church for the Easter liturgies is asked to report to the sacristy on Holy Saturday, 3/31 at 9:30 to 11:00 a.m.

OPERATION RICE BOWL If you have been participating in Operation Rice Bowl during Lent, please put your donation in an envelope, mark it Operation Rice Bowl, and place it in the collection basket at church during the next two weeks. 75% of funds collected will be sent to Catholic Relief Services for the needs of the poor overseas. 25% will be used by Catholic Charities for the poor in the Springfield Diocese. Thank you be being mindful of the needy during the season of Lent.

TENEBRAE

Bishop Rozanski cordially invites you to join the ancient service of Tenebrae (meaning darkness or shadows) to be held at the Cathedral of St. Mi-chael the Archangel, 254 State St., Springfield on Friday, March 30 at 7:30 p.m. This solemn event commemorates the passion and death of Christ through readings, music, and the dramatic extin-guishing of light. Tenebrae ends with a thunderous stomping of the feet symbolizing the earthquake when Christ died. After a moment of silent reflection, a single candle is lit to signify Christ’s light returning to the world and all depart in silence. Diocesan Pilgrimage to Panama for World Youth Day 2019 The next international World Youth Day Cele-bration will take place in Panama City, Panama on January 21-28, 2019. The Diocese of Springfield is planning a pilgrimage with Faith Journeys, and it is open to those 18-35 years

PINK MASS St Joseph Parish at 414 North Street in Pittsfield will host the fourth annual Pink Mass on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at

11:30 AM.�This Mass is for all who have suffered from ANY

form of cancer. Prayers are offered for those in remission, those who have died, or those undergoing treatment as well as families, caregivers, doctors, and health specialists. A reception with light refreshments will follow in the Parish Center adjacent to the church. All throughout the county and beyond are invited.

Soup and Saints

On Mercy Sunday, April 8, 2018, the Spiritual Life Team of Saint Theresa’s Parish in South Hadley will present its annual Soup and Saints. The Free luncheon, featuring a smorgasbord of homemade soups and desserts, is scheduled for 11:45 am – 1:00 pm in Cyril Hall followed by a presentation in the church at 1:00 – 2:00 pm by spiritual director Virginia Collins-English. An alumna of Elms College with an MA in Applied Theology, Ms. English has also received the C.A.G.S. in Marriage and Family Therapy and the M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology. Her presentations are for all who desire to develop, renew, deepen and widen their prayer relationships with God. Author of “Prayering: Openings for Contemplation and Personal Prayer” (available for purchase – cash or check only), Ms. English’s talk for Soup and Saints will focus on prayer as a vehicle for deepening a more personal relationship with God. This event is free and open to the public. St. Theresa’s Church is located at 9 East Parkview Drive is handicapped accessible and has ample parking.

BETHLEHEM HOUSE DIAPER DRIVE

Beginning on the weekend of April 7/8 and running through the weekend of April 28/29, we will be collecting diapers for Bethlehem House. Please leave your diaper donation in the bins in the church sac-risty. There is currently a need for sizes 4, 5 & 6, but any diaper donation will be greatly appreciated. Bethlehem House, Inc. is a non-profit organization located in Western Massachusetts which offers free pregnancy resources for women in crisis. Since being founded in 2006, over 5000 clients have received services from Bethlehem House, Inc. Working with local colleges, churches, hospitals and birthing centers, they offer many services including gifts of baby supplies and other necessities, support and counsel-ing as well as providing referrals for area services and educa-tional programs. Non-judgmental, compassionate and always confidential support.
