Roadmap
Business Suite ( ECC) Mainstream Maintenance committed until at least 2025
Existing & enhanced innovationsNew innovationsAdvanced Availability to PromiseIntegrated Extended Warehouse Management
Effective Order Management & Billing
Simplified Procurement
Real time Inventory Management & Material Valuation
Integrated Quality Management
Entire S/4HANA Financescope included in the core
Embedded Software in Product Development Consistent Fiori UX for SAP S/4HANA
Industry to Core (DIMP, Oil, Retail)
Optimized Portfolio and Project ManagementAccelerated Material Requirements Planning
Key-innovations
Of course, SAP S/4HANA 1610 includes the key innovation from the previous 1511 release. Think about the new Procurement, Inventory Management or MRP. Or the industry functionalities now part of SAP S/4HANA core, like the DIMP framework and Just in Time Processing and the Enhanced supplier Kanban. Those will be further enhanced in 1610, like the Advanced Availability to Promise.
With 1610, we deliver further on our simplification roadmap, bringing key innovations like:
the integrated extended warehouse management now integrated in S/4HANA core, the integrated Capacity Planningthe simplified Enterprise Portfolio and Project Management, and more
Not to forget that the entire S/4HANA Finance scope aka Simple Finance - is now included in 1610.
What is the value for our customer? Lets pick an example: Extended Warehouse Management.
Leverage other innovation: Direct usage of master data, Support 40digit material numberAssure consistency: Avoid redundant objects, Direct access to central objects in S/4HANA coreSimplification of their SAP landscape Deactivate components , Simplify the stack
Let me pick an other example with the new solution Enterprise Portfolio and Project Management, an add-on for S/4HANA. This will help our customers:
Maximize return on investments of their project: Precise investment planning, and closed-loop monitoringDo the right things fast: Manage projects, tasks, and timelines and track progress.Do more with less: Complete transparency of the availability of critical resources

Fiori 2.0Single entry pointDomain specific infos and actionsEnter details and explore in depthThis is the current state of planning and may be changed by SAP at any time. The SAP Fiori launchpad will be the single entry point to access all appsUsers will quickly get an overview of what needs their attention with Overview Pages, List Reports and Work Lists, and trigger quick actions or drill down to the next level of detailKey and differentiating use cases will be re-imagined with the SAP Fiori user experience. All classic applications will have the SAP Fiori visual theme.
Overall story: It is often best to tell this story after showing the Fiori 2.0 video, since the video visualizes some of the aspects, so the whole thing appears more tangible for the audience. SAP Fiori gives users the relevant information they need at a glance, along with dedicated UIs which fit the situation and allow the user to get their work done. The approach for SAP Fiori coverage with S/4HANA maximizes user exposure to SAP Fiori.S/4HANA gives the user the relevant information they need at a glance, along with lightweight Fiori UIs which fit the concrete situation and allow the user to do a quick action to deal with it. Its a new way of working, which S/4HANA supports via Fiori.
One Entry Point: The SAP Fiori launchpad is the single point of entry to access all applications - directly via tiles or links, or by using Search.Note: end users need SAP Business Client 6.0 to run SAP GUI for Windows from SAP Fiori launchpad. SAP GUI for HTML / WebDynpro / SAP Screen Personas apps are released for desktop use cases only.
Domain specific infos and actionsUsers can quickly get an overview of what needs their attention with Overview Pages, List Reports and Work Lists. Notifications provide an additional channel for alerting on urgent tasks or requests.
Users can trigger quick actions such as extending a contract, changing a delivery date or drill down to the next level of detail. Users can also invoke the CoPilot, an intelligent assistant supporting ad-hoc tasks in the context of their business activity..
Enter details and explore in depthLower down the pyramid, key and differentiating use cases will be re-imagined with the SAP Fiori user experience e.g. looking at all details of a business object via an Object Page, or changing frequently updated fields in a sales order (amount, date, new items).
We will provide the SAP Fiori theme for all classic applications this covers SAP GUI UIs as well as WebDynpro for ABAP. SAP GUI for Windows will also support the SAP Fiori theme, with the intention to cover the same scope as for SAP GUI for HTML over time. The SAP Fiori theme for S/4HANA is planned to be available with future releases only, not with e.g. 1511.SAP Fiori themed classic UIs means visually enhanced and modernized through the Belize visual design.
Transactions developed by customers will also run with the SAP Fiori theme; customers can choose to keep the old look for individual transactions as a fall-back. We recommend that customers do the same analysis for their own classical UIs as SAP did for standard UIs.23
