Wisdom is first gift of the Holy Spirit. It is the ability to exercise good judgment. It is grounded in common sense and comes from life experience, thoughtful reflection, and learning life’s lessons in “The School of Hard Knocks.” Wisdom distinguishes between right and wrong, seeks and upholds truth and justice, and balances personal good with the common good. Dear Lord Jesus Christ, right before your As-cension into heaven you told your apostles to be His witnesses to the ends of the earth up-on receiving the Holy Spirit. May I be simi-larly inspired to spread your Gospel message in word and deed, according to your will for me. And may I do so prudently and joyfully, with your help, your guidance, and your grace! And remembering this glorious event, help me to seek what is above, Heaven, where you are seated at the right hand of God the Father!

Blessing of Mothers During the season of Easter, what a great time to remember our mothers and ask for God's blessing on them. It is God who ultimately gave us life. It is through God's unselfish love mirrored in our mothers' willingness to associate their love with God's and take the risk to love us into life that we have the opportunity for life. We remember our mothers this Mother's Day with much love. Let us pray for each of them:

God our heavenly Father, you give to each the ability to share your generative love. Bless those women in our lives who mirror your love and bring forth life through their willingness to risk bringing new life into this world. Help us to show them our gratitude for the gift of life and the gift of a mother's love. May our life-giving God continue to bless them and show them his unfailing love. We ask this through Jesus, God's Son and our brother.

Amen.

Confession and Eucharistic Adoration every week at 4:55 pm to 5:25 pm before the 5:30 pm Saturday mass. Fr. in confessional up front in the former mother's room.
