The Epiphany of the Lord January 3, 2021

Today, we celebrate the Epiphany of our Lord. The Gospel account of the three magi traveling to meet Baby Jesus is one that we know well. Yet, when we pause to reflect on this moment when these men met Christ for the first time, we recognize that there is much to be said for us still today. When the magi entered the house, it says, “they saw the

child with Mary his mother. They prostrated themselves and did him homage.” Clearly these men knew that they were in the presence of their King. They also came bearing gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh, which symbolize Christ’s kingship, divinity and humanity. Christ is still manifesting Himself to us today. We enter God’s house weekly, and we are in His presence. When

we meet Him, do we offer Him our gifts — our time, talent and treasure? As Christian stewards, we are called to respond with love, reverence and gratitude. Let us prepare our hearts to receive Christ’s many manifestations in our lives. We just need a grateful disposition to receive them. — Stewardship Reflections by Catholic Stewardship Consultants

  • SANCTUARY LAMP: The Sanctuary Lamp burns continuously to remind us that Jesus is present in the Tabernacle. It is a mark of honor to remind the faithful of the presence of Christ, and is a profession of our love and affection. If you wish to have the Sanctuary Lamp burning in memory of a loved one, to honor a special occasion, or a special intention make arrangements with the office.

PRAY FOR VOCATIONS “Rise up in splendor! Your light has come.” Is Christ calling you to serve Him in others as a sister, brother, deacon or priest? Contact Fr. Tom at torlando@allsaintscsus.org to inquire about vocations or the vocation ministry.

Please pray for our seminarians Josh Lesan, Patrick Germann and Saul Walle. Please also keep in your prayers other seminarians Stephen Watson and David Sandler, who also have ties to the All Saints community.

ALL SAINTS SCHEDULE: All of our weekend and daily Masses will now be outside. We will keep you posted of times each week. We do ask that you bring your own chairs. Masks will still be required. Remember that the dispensation is still in effect if you are not comfortable or able to attend live Mass. A recording of the Mass will be done as well and posted on our website. Monday night Adoration will take place on the north side of the building. You can bring a chair or sit in your vehicle. Confessions will be done in the lobby of the north reception area. Please form a line outside the north entrance. If you have questions, please call the office.

ALL SAINTS WISH LIST: Please click the link below to go to the All Saints Wish List. On this list you will see items that are needed for the new building addition. If you are interested in purchasing any of the items or if you want to make a donation, please call the office. https://allsaintscsus.org/all-saints-university-parish-wish-list

E-BULLETIN: If you would like a copy of our bulletin emailed to you each week, please let the office know your email address and we will be happy to send it to you. The ebulletin has more inserts than the paper bulletin and there is less contact.

NEW ADDRESSES: Please remember to notify the office of your new address if you have moved or if you have a new phone number. Also, if you are not sure if you are registered, please call the office at 669-0473 to make sure that you are registered with All Saints University Parish. Thank you!

THIS WEEKEND’S 2nd COLLECTION will be for the benefit of our Building fund. God bless you for your generosity.

NEXT WEEKEND’S 2nd COLLECTION will be for the benefit of our Scholarship fund. Please give generously.

LETTER FROM OUR PARISHIONER: Please read the attached letter from our parishioner, Jared Alamo. He is working with Net Ministries and wanted to say thank you and give you an update on what he has been doing with Net. Thank you, Jared, for your commitment. God bless you.

WHY REGISTER?: There are several reasons why you should register at a parish. Being registered establishes evidence of your presence in church, provides proof of sacramental participation, offers spiritual benefits, community involvement, and it demonstrates financial commitment. If you are unsure if you are registered at All Saints, call the office. If you would like to register, there are forms on the table in the vestibule, in the office, or on our website at www.allsaintscsus.org.

This week’s helpers include … Altar Linens ~ Elaine Sullivan
