From the Pastor’s Desk
Dear Friends: Happy Easter! This joyful greeting rings out again this year reminding us of the good news that Jesus is risen from the dead. The Resurrection is so much more than an historical event. The Resurrection helps us to make sense of life because all things can be seen within the context of Jesus’ victory over sin and death. Our lives are often messy. We deal with a lot of problems as well as the problems in other people’s lives that affect us. Faith in Jesus and the power of his Resurrection gives meaning and purpose to our lives despite their messiness. Easter is about new beginnings. If you need to, I invite you to make a new beginning in your relationship with Jesus and commit to being his disciple within the community of the Church. Pope Francis has called the entire Church to celebrate a Jubilee of Mercy from December 2015 until November 2016. The Jubilee of Mercy is a graced time to reflect on God’s desire to forgive our sins and to move us into a closer relationship with him. Jesus died for our sins on the cross; he rose from the dead so that we might live in freedom as his children freed from the power of sin. In the Jubilee of Mercy the Church renews the message of God’s mercy which is extended to everyone along with an invitation to live in closer communion with him and his Church. If you have been living at a distance from God or his Church (for whatev-er reason) I invite you to hear the call of the Jubilee of Mercy and return home. If I can be of any assistance to you in that process, please do not hesitate to call on me either by phone or email.
On behalf of Fr. Joe, Deacon Jack, and the entire staff I wish you and your loved ones a most blessed Easter!
May God bless you on this Holy Day and every day, Fr. Michael Foppiano

WELCOME HOME/RETURNING CATHOLICS
Have you been away from the church for a while? We have missed you. We know there are many reasons people stop regularly practicing the faith:
perhaps you were hurt by someone in the church, perhaps you feel let down by the community, perhaps you feel lost in the Mass or the crowd, perhaps you have questions that no one ever answered or
answered well, perhaps you did something you think was unforgivable, perhaps you lost your connection with God, or perhaps life simply got too busy.
Whatever the reason, you are missed. The church would be richer for your presence and we would like to be of help if you are interested in coming back. We are ready to listen to your concerns, answer questions to the best of our ability, or connect you with resources to help you fit in again. If you would like to talk with someone, please contact Fr. Foppiano ([email protected]) via email or through the Parish Office.
HOW DO I BECOME CATHOLIC?
Each year we offer a process for adults who would like to know more about the Catholic faith and/or are considering becoming Catholic, known as the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA). It is a process of discernment, meaning that if you begin the process and discover that you are unable or no longer interested in continuing, you are not obligated to finish.
The RCIA process is designed for: Those who are not baptized, Those who were baptized Catholic as babies, but who have not celebrated First Communion and/or Confirmation, and Baptized Christians of another denomination who wish to become Catholic.
Please contact Fr. Foppiano via email or the Parish Office for more information.
BECOMING A MEMBER OF THE PARISH
We all need a place to belong — a place to feel at home. For Catholics, that is their local parish. We invite you to become a member of St. Agnes or St. William of York Parish. By registering at the parish you are certain to receive all the latest news about what is happening. In addition, parish registration is necessary for the reception of the Sacraments of Initiation and for those who need letters attesting to their suitability to be godparents or sponsors. Once you’ve become a member, we hope you will take an active role in the community. Each week there are many events listed in our bulletin and a full listing of our parish ministries and committees can be found on our websites.

THE SACRAMENT OF RECONCILIATION
The Sacrament of Reconciliation, otherwise known as Confession or Penance, reconciles us to God and to the Church by forgiving the sins which we have committed. God freely forgives us when we are contrite and ask for his mercy. If it has been some time since you’re last Confession, you might consider experiencing God’s healing grace again. Confessions are offered on Saturday afternoons from 3:30-4:30pm and Sunday mornings from 7:00-7:20am at St. Agnes & Saturday afternoons from 3:00-3:45pm and Sunday mornings from 9:45-10:00am at St. William. Priests are also available at other times by appointment. If its been a long time and you’re just not sure what to do, we can provide resources to help you make a good Confession.
RELIGIOUS EDUCATION
The Office of Religious Education oversees: Children's religious education for Kindergarten through
Grade 8 and Sacramental Preparation for First Reconciliation, First

Father’s Weekly Email Newsletter
Fr. Foppiano sends out a weekly email blast containing items of interest in our parish, Archdiocese, and the Church Universal. To be included, please email him at [email protected]. with “St. Agnes & St. William of York Add” in the subject line.
DIVORCE AND REMARRIAGE
While recognizing that with the exchange of marital vows God takes two persons and makes them one flesh, the Church knows that there are times when an element necessary for a valid marriage is missing. If a person claims that something was missing from a marriage to make it invalid, that person has the right to seek the assistance of a tribunal. Most often the person asking for an annulment will be a Catholic or a person who is now seeking to marry a Catholic. Information on the annulment process can be obtained by calling the marriage tribunal office at 410-547-5533.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
Want to see life through the eyes of a child again and rediscover the Joy of the Lord? Want to pass on your faith to the next generation and have a little fun, too? Consider being a part of our Vacation Bible School team this year. It takes lots of volunteers to make our VBS run with ease. There are a variety of ways to get involved, from preparing the snacks to decorating the hall to leading a pre-planned activity station. You don’t need prior experience working with children - just a desire to serve the Lord through our young people! VBS takes place the week of June 20-24. If you would like to find out how you can take part in serving our families through this ministry, please contact Peggy Mrozek or Amanda Barrick. VBS is also a great place for teens to get service hours!
