 Deaf Communications Infrastructure Development (DCID) Project Contract for RYP Residential – 11th and 12th May 2012 About the project The DCID Project is funded by the European Regional Development Fund under Measure IVA of the INTERREG Programme. This Programme is administered by the Special European Union Programmes Body. The Deaf Communications Infrastructure Development (DCID) project brings together a consortium of six public sector and not-for-profit or ganisations from N orthern Irelan d and the Rep ublic of Irela nd. Each organisation special ises in adult education and vocational skills develo pment. The purpose of coming together is to build an infrastructure that addresses the critical current shortage of communication professional s working with deaf people to access public sector services. The DCID Project Partnership members are: Signature, Donegal VEC; Educational Guidance Services for Adults (EGSA), Sligo VEC; Southern Regional College and Monaghan VEC. The project sets out to inspire a new generation of deaf people to gain the skills required to become the agents of their own social inclusion. The overall aims of the project are to:- open employment prospects for deaf people which will also begin to address the current critical interpreter shortage by encouraging and supporting deaf sign language users to become qualified teachers in Further Education through both academic and vocational routes, leading to their economic progression; meet the requirement of Public Sector organisations to meet their statutory obligations to communicate with deaf people, through active engagement of Public Services (and active feedback of positivity of public services, which will be vital t o continuous improvement); increase awareness of the communications needs of British and Irish Sign Language (BSL and ISL) users on the ground leading to a greater awareness and capaci ty in the general public and accessibil ity in a myriad of public services currently unavailable to deaf people. Deaf, British Sign Language (BSL) and Irish Sign Language (ISL) users, will have increased access to the full range of services offered by the public sector across the border region and beyond; and be a joint solution to the, cross-border, shortage of qualified deaf teachers with more classes for the next generation of communication professionals to help address the current cross border, critical interpreter shortage problems. Contract of Agreement: Sligo City Hotel, hereinafter known as the Client, will host a 2 Residential for the DCID Project on the following days 11th/12th May 2012 involving:- Conference suite for up to 20 participants for all day (9am – 5pm) Friday 11th & Saturday 12th May 2012. Overnight (Friday 11th May 2012) accommodation (Single Rooms) for up to 20 participants. Friday 11th May 2012 - Tea/Coffee & Biscuits serve d on arrival (up to 20 participants) - Finger Buffet Lunch (up to 20 participants) - Evening Me al (up to 20 particip ants) Saturday 12th May 2012 - Tea, Coffee & Biscuits (mid-morn ing up to 20 participants) - Finger Buffet Lunch (up to 20 participants) - Tea/Coffee & Biscui ts (afternoon up to 20 participants) On-site car-parking up to 20 spaces from Friday morning to Saturday evening.

EGSA (on behalf of the DCID Project Partnership), in return for the above, will agree to pay up to the total fee( €2,200 inc. VAT) based on the actual number of people attending residential in one instalment. This will bepaid on an appropriate invoice being presented to EGSA. No alcohol costs are billable to the project and these must be covered by participants before departure.

The DCID Project Partnership has the right to terminate this Contract if the Client fails to supply any element ofthe agreed Contract.

EGSA will strive to provide exact numbers and any special requirements (e.g. dietary, access, etc) 1 weekprior to the start of the Residential.

By signing this Contract neither party agrees to an ongoing relationship and should further Residentials berequired the Client understands that a competitive tendering process will have to be entered into.

Acceptance

Please make two copies of this Contract. By signing and returning one copy of the Contract, within 5 workingdays of the date of receipt, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions set out within. Please ensure you arein agreement with all the terms and conditions set out in the Contract, especially termination, before signingthis document.
