I hope that you and your family and friends experience some of the magic and enjoy safe and healthy holidays. I also want to thank you for your sincere commitment and hard work over the past year. Together, we’re making Hartford Hospital a very special place – a place where patients and families know they will receive the best possible treatment in the most compassionate way; where everyone’s ideas are respected and every single person makes a difference; where our values of integrity, excellence, caring and safety aren’t just words but are lived every day … a place where miracles happen. This time of year is a perfect time to step back and reflect on our accomplish- ments, which have been truly remarkable. Over the past year, we’ve achieved nu- merous successes together. Through H3W, we’ve enhanced our quality of care and improved our operations in many ways. We’ve upgraded our facility, making it more welcoming and impressive to visitors. We’ve expanded services into commu- nities with new satellite offices. The list goes on. We also can be proud of our long list of awards and recognition, including the HealthGrades 2011 Emergency Medi- cine Excellence Award and being ranked number one in the Hartford area by U.S. News and World Report’s first-ever Best Hospitals Metro Area rankings. These are just two of many examples. I believe our hospital truly stands apart, and our reputation for excellence is steadi- ly growing – and it’s because of your efforts and dedication. So once again, thank you. I look forward to our continued success and to working with you in the New Year, and I wish you and your family joyful holidays and a safe and healthy 2012.
