Features of RWD
Providing training and support for your end users is vital to any businesses
success. If Training documentation or help material is non existent or
inadequate, end-users cannot perform to their maximum capacity that will in turn
affect the overall business performance. Traditionally end-user training
documentation was created by documentation specialist that use to sit-in with the
application users to capture and document their processes. This method style of
creating documentation was time consuming and expensive, the distribution of
the material used to be in hard copy format.
Using Info Pack allows business to rapidly produce professional training
documentation and interactive simulations, complete with online help that is
always current and immediately available to the end-users. To create detailed
end-user procedures and simulations of computer applications, it is as simple as
executing a task in any application while RWD Info Pak automatically documents
the entire procedure producing a recording. A distinctive feature of RWD is that
a recording needs to take place only once and necessary documents can be
produced as required from the recording.
5
RWD Simulator Tutorial
The parent document created from the recording can be expanded and edited.
Sections of the parent document can then be published into separate child
documents tailored for different users.
Therefore the parent document is the central repository for all available
information, and child documents contain more specific or only certain pieces of
information needed by the trainee.
Examples of Child Documents
Work Instruction: Front matter information, end user procedures with steps, field
description help, includes screen flows.
Cue Card (HTML only): Dynamic multi-layer document designed specifically for
context-sensitive help, includes screen flows.
Quick Reference (Step): Front matter information, end user steps without screen
images or field definitions.
Quick Reference (Flow): Front matter information and screen flow.
Exercise: End user training document that includes data for a given procedure,
tasks and questions for students to complete.
BPP (Business Process Procedure): Mimics the BPP document that comes with
an Accelerated SAP (ASAP) implementation.
6
RWD Simulator Tutorial
BPP (Business Process Procedure): Mimics the ASAP BPP documents and
provides dynamic, multi-layer format designed specifically to context-sensitive
help.
Configuration Document: Lists information such as configuration menu paths,
key field changes, and date of configuration change.
Test Document: Scenarios that result in system testing.
Benefits of Using RWD
RWD assists in saving time and money and offers a return on investment in
training for businesses.
Time and money are saved for the following reasons:
Consistent and high quality training documentation and simulations are produced
rapidly;
Distribution of the latest information is simplified as information and simulations
are conveniently accessed online or from a central repository;
Help desk support costs are reduced as the increased availability of knowledge
provided by RWD reduces the Gap between human capability and system
complexity;
Facilitates effective relevant training by:
7
RWD Simulator Tutorial
Producing consistent, high quality, and relevant output that assists in engaging
the trainees and provides necessary knowledge for trainees to perform at an
optimum level,
Ease of access and convenience of training assists in gaining a positive
response to a new system, and a rapid transfer of knowledge resulting in
optimum performance sooner.

RWD Products
RWD Info Pak provides four utilities that assist in creating and publishing the
end-user documentation.
1/ RWD Info Pak Publisher
Publisher provides powerful functionality that allows you to edit the recorded
document and include additional information as required. This all-inclusive
document can then be published to the web, or distributed via online help in
several formats, or simply printed and distributed as hard copies.
2/ RWD Info Pak Simulator
9
RWD Simulator Tutorial
Simulator creates a simulation during the same recording process. The
simulation can be edited to include notes, or voice overlays. Simulator can be
played in four modes:
Auto playback mode: replays the task without interaction.
Standard mode: guides you through the task with step by step instructions.
Self test mode: allows you to attempt the task and provides guidance when an
error is made.
Assessment mode: allows results to be captured and integrated into custom or
third party tracking applications.

RWD Info Pak OmniHelp
OmniHelp makes online help available from any application and gives you the
help you need at the moment it is required. When an end-user is struggling with a
task, a simple, on-screen interface provides quick and easy access to kelp that is
directly related to the current task. Help content can be highly customized to
include graphs, links and other information associated with specific screens,
providing specific information when required.
4/ RWD Info Pak Administrator
Administrator gives you the ability to create a web site based on the training
material generated by the Publisher. The website can be easily customized and
serves as a complete source of training material, simulations, business process
details, presentation, and additional resource information.
