Status• Running with 111x111, >1.3e9 ions/bunch
– With rebucketing, 4.8 MV in Yellow, 4.8 MV Blue– ZDC rates >40kHz peak
• Stochastic Cooling status– Vacuum spiked at Blue Longitudinal , BL now
off– Transverse cooling alternating, Blue / Yellow
• Rebucketing & ZDC rates– Latest store, try 4.6 MV (600 kV on “colored”
cavities, 700 kV on common cavities.)
Run 1062.4 GeV Setup
31.2 GeV/N
19.5 GeV/N
Preparations• 2 days for setup (hopefully less)• Shift schedule is posted• storage rf system can be used above 19.5 GeV/nucleon
– We will use it for the 31.2 GeV run– (We may be able to use it for the 19.5 GeV run)– Expect to work on rebucketing the evening on 1st day
• Beta* ~ 2.5m, all crossing angles are 0.• Basic configuration is same at injection through transition• Develop checklists for energy change
Basic Plan• Injection doesn’t change
– RF setup at injection (synchro) remains the same
• Ramp changes slightly even before transition– Keep gamma jumps as they are (time changes slightly)– Beta-squeeze after transition changes– Yellow dipole feedback – timing will change– Brho loop timing will change
• Use tune/coupling and orbit feedback for ramp – 3 ramps• Rebucketing setup = 1 shift (new frequency, new phases)• Collimation and orbit setup
Schedule:• Thurs. March 18
– 8 am: end 200 GeV run– Switch to new ramp (modify scripts/sequences)
• Check timing – brho loop, loss mons., yellow dipole feedback– Run 6x6 bunch ramp with tune/coupling and orbit
feedback including data-stores for p.s. group– Do second 6x6 bunch ramp with feedback w/ data-stores– Run feed-forward ramp and tune ramp efficiencies– 4 pm: setup rebucketing and collisions– Once rebucketing is working, work on store setup
(scale IR corrections and check)• Fri. March 19
– continue collimation setup, store orbits– Start raising number of bunches– Physics by evening
