Using our experience in Avionics design and development, we have created the next generation in rugged computing.We use materials that are highly durable and dependable. Our chassis are created from 6000 series aluminum and coated with a corrosion inhibitor which maintains the electrical conductivity of the chassis, thereby creating low impedance interfaces, resulting in superior performance against GMI requirements.

Crystal Group designs and manufactures rugged computer servers for Military and industrial environments. All products are tested to EMI, shock and vibration, extreme temperature ranges, sand, dust, fog and more! The all aluminium chassis come in a variety of sizes from 1U to 6U and offer depth options from 13” to 24”.

Rugged Embedded Computers

Crystal Group’s rugged embedded product line includes a light weight carbon fiber chassis that when fully populated weighs four lbs. It also offers a completely sealed server that is rated at IP67 and has the capability of running underwater continuously. The embedded product line is small, compact, computationally powerful, and customizable.

Rugged Networking Switches

Crystal Group’s Networking product line includes a variety of switches. Crystal Group takes leading edge COTS centered Cisco® based technology and augments packing techniques to extend environmental capabilities. The networking products endure shock, vibration, and thermal extremes better than competing products.

The Crystal Group Engineering team consists of over twenty-five members who excel in design, test, and development of high reliability equipment. Our Mechanical Engineers and Designers use AutoCad Inventor to accurately model and develop designs in three dimensions. Using solid modeling allows them to create new structures, pull in existing components from previous designs, perform fit checks, and analyze tolerances quickly and accurately. These models are used extensively in the preliminary design phase of the program to communicate design intent to the customer as well as to departments within the company. Our Electrical Engineers and Technicians use Visio for block diagrams and Altimum for schematic capture and board layout activities. Our team customizes according to the needs and requirements of our customers. Some products we offer are shown below:

CustoM design teaM

Crystal Group has perfected techniques in extending the performance of COTS equipment to create high reliability computational systems for extreme environments. These techniques include stabilizing components that are susceptible to damage from shock and vibration, increasing air flow to hot components, and even improving the conductive and convective heat transfer mechanisms of components to extend the thermal limits of COTS storage electronics. Combining these techniques, with a durable structural chassis design enables superior environmental performance and longevity.

New DesignsIntegrating Latest Technology

Crystal Group is constantly creating new customizable designs. We follow the Intel Roadmap which allows us to stay up-to-date with current trends in technology. Our goal is to integrate the latest technology in order for our customers to stay ahead of the game.

We have designed a MIL-STD-461 compliant 1U ATX power supply that can be fit for our customers’ specific power, space, and qualification needs.

Every Crystal Group computer is tested for a minimum of 24 hours in a special burn-in rack with customized software. The software is designed to exercise all I/O ports, hard drive sectors, memory locations, and CPU(s) to the full extent of each system’s capacity. This level of testing provides our customers with proven hardware; ready for reliable service. Crystal Group excels at the integration of seemingly disparate technologies into advanced technological systems. Our team of Technical Directors are skilled at quickly integrating pieces of technology to meet customer requirements. Crystal Group will specify, procure, inventory, integrate, test, deliver, install, support, and upgrade integrated systems. Crystal Group provides:
