CONCEPT When I go riding with my friends on my mo- torcycle I often get a lot of tickets usually because I am speeding. I know I can’t keep this up so I need to get a radar device for my bike because of this I had an idea for our project. I wanted to make a device that combined a lot of other features besides radar detect that could be useful to a rider such as myself. The first feature would of coarse be the radar function that should detect both laser and basic radar from police. That function could work as part of the spatial attributes of Murray’s essay because it would allow the rider to have a heightened sense of their surround- ings. The next function would be the GPS and ipod features that send music or directions to the riders Bluetooth helmet. In my initial sketches there were some Bluetooth ear buds but I opted out of including them in my final design after finding out in my research that riding a motorcycle with any sort of headphone is illegal even though I know tons of riders who do it anyway. It seems the loop whole is have a Blu- etooth helmet and you can get away with it. So the GPS and ipod features would fit into the ency- clopedic functions of Murray’s essay because they can store data for directions or you favorite play list. The camera function was an added feature to record the ride becuase I often see guys making custom mounts on their bikes in order to record their stunts or just them riding (or to be used in court as eveidence...you never know). Again the camera would fall into the encyclopedic attri- bute as well.
