    We were short a couple of.our regular members , Jim Bradford and Dick Champion, and of course their wives,Becky and Peg, at our April meeting, Their other event must have been really important because those two hardlyever miss a meeting. While they really were missed I think the coffee that Diik anO eeg usuatty bring may havebeen missedJust as mucfr.

    The three Ambassadors for Peace Medal presentation went very welt. Over 300 guests in three locationsand three luncheon receptions for over 300. guests..HggJung co'oked over a wee[ making handmade Oumptings,Bulgogees, Korean meat.balls, egg.and tlrkey sandwiches ;nd beked Canadian Butter tirts. Stre was iufrose tobring samples to the April meeting, including the home made Ambassador for Peace medal cake decoration.However she had to fly back to Canada and thus missed the meeting. Her husbano Don was at the meeting buthe obviously forgot the food. The 41 Korean War Veterans are weariig their Ambassaaor for peace *.Oriiproudly with smiles and tears. lncidentallythe 41 Peace Medals came trom the Consulate General in Canada andnot from our local Consulate General in Aflanta, GA.

    patricia to look afterhim as well. A Korean War Veteran, Earl Breeze, from Chapter 158 received the-Ambassador for peaee Medalfrom those that Mr. Champion brought to the ceremony. Th6 medals and certificates ior members of 15g thathave not been awarded will be in my possession peniing a method of distribution.

    Together, we helped to increase awareness of the legacy of the Korean War Veterans who contributed to Korea,sfeedom, peace and prosperity and thank you waft viry much for sending the Chapter 1sg newsletter as well.Because I know that many of you do not use the intemet here is some infonnation that you may not be aware of:

    1. Financial: Comrnander Cohee gave the report on behalf of Treasurer Jim Bradford.The current balance is $1171.08 A detailed report was given and a copy is anachedto

    these minutes. The report was approved peuding audit.

    2. Cornespondence: Commander Cohee reported on behalf of Secretary Bradford that

    he had received a letter of appreciation for our scholarship award from the Polk CountyFoundation and an invitation from FSC to a Mother's Day Luncheon featuring Jenna

    Bush as the keynote speaker. Persons who would like informatioo on tickets etc should

    contact Commander Cchet.

    3. Chaplain's Report: No rePort.

    4. Fundraising Chairmants Report No report.

    5. Membership Report: Commander Cohee reported thatDon Btack had submitted a

    check to cover his Nitional and Chapter dues and will be reinstated to ttre membershiproster. Commander Cohee will assure that the dues are sent to National for Mr Black.

    3- Don Kennedy reportedthat he hadbeen the MC for all three Peace Medal events inour area, one in Ciearwater, one in iresburg and iast week in Lake Wales. At ieast 100recipients attended each evenL Hoo Jung prepared meals for all the events. The VFWPost in lake Wales also prepared food. Dick Champion aftended on behalf ofCommander Cohee who had to attend a meeting in V[ashington DC.

    1. Commander Cohee presented a certificate of appreciation from himself and WaltBenton, to Don Kennedy for HooJung for her outstanding efforts to recognize and thankKorean \Yar Veterans.

There was a brief discussion about the role the US played in Korea after the end ofwwll and prior to the Korean War prompted by an inquiry Commander Coheereceived in his position as National Secretary. There was a general agreement that anarticle in the Graybeards about these Veterans of Korea would be of interest
