ENGLISH LESSON PLAN ITEM DATE: 28 APRIL 2015 BAHASA INGGERIS YEAR 1 0750 – 0850 AM Focus: Listening and speaking Theme: Listen to Me Content Standard: 1.1 By the end of the 6-year primary schooling, pupils will be able to pronounce words and speak confidently with the correct stress, rhythm and intonation. Learning standard: 1.1.3 Able to listen to, say aloud and recite rhymes or sing songs with guidance. Learning objectives: By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to: Say the phoneme /m/ correctly while doing the action Set Induction: 1. Teacher brings a container contains cookies. 2. Teachers pick pupils randomly and ask the pupils to taste the cookies. 3. Teachers ask them about the taste. 4. Relate the action with the phoneme /m/ Step 1: 1. Teacher introduces the capital letter ‘M’ and small letter ‘m’ using word card. 2. Teacher guide pupils sound the phoneme /m/ using facial expression. 3. Teacher guide pupils to draw the letter M in the air and friend’s back. Step 2: 1. Teacher shows song’s lyric. 2. Teacher will sing the songs first and pupils repeat with guidance. 3. The lyric: M is for mango…/m/ /m/ /m/ mango, M is for man……/m/ /m/ /m/ man, M is for monkey……/m/ /m/ /m/ monkey, M is for mop……/m/ /m/ /m/ mop. Step 3: 1. Do ‘Pick and Paste’ activity. i. Teacher divides pupils into three small groups. ii. Teacher put a Magic Box in front the class that contains words cards. iii. Teacher put up pictures on the board. iv. Teacher asks one person from each group to pick any words and paste it under the
