EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHTGet To Know The Staff

Pascal Rochelemagne, our resident Frenchman, has been graciously accommodating our Members for the past 5 years as

Food & Beverage Service Director. Born in Lyon, France and raised in Avignon, France, he attended Avignon/Montelimar, majoring in CAP BEP Ingenieur Designer in Mecanique.

Pascal’s career path started in St. Tropez, France, moved on to Frankfurt, Germany, and finally brought him to the United States, where he worked at Froggy’s French Café in Highwood, IL and Deer Path Inn Hotel, in Deerfield, IL before coming to Royal Melbourne.

Married for 10 years to Paula, the Rochelemagne’s and their two children, Luc, 9 and Colette, 5, reside in Grayslake. Pascal also has a 22 year old son, Robert, who lives in Chicago.

Whenever Pascal manages to get some time off, he and his family enjoy vacationing in France … but of course! He also loves golfing with his kids and riding his bike (as in motorcycle). And, as many of you are aware, he loves good wine, and is always willing to help you select a good wine while dining at the Club.

If you’ve not had an opportunity to meet Pascal, feel free to stop by the office any time to introduce yourself. Of course, most of the time you’ll find him in one of the dining rooms.

GOLFWe hope that everyone had a wonderful Holiday Season and that you all had the opportunity to spend some valuable time with friends and family. It appears that we still have a couple more months of this cold weather before we can get back out on our beautiful golf course, but hopefully we’ll be golfing again some time in March.

The Golf Staff would like to thank each and every Member at the Club for a terrific 2010 golf season. We’re currently planning for 2011 and look forward to another fantastic year!

Throughout the months of January and February, Tim Hval, Head Professional, will be at the Club during the week, but not on weekends. It’s always a good idea to call ahead or send Tim an e-mail at [email protected] to check his availability.

“CASINO NIGHT”

Thanks to all who attended our Second Annual “Casino Night” on

Saturday, November 20th! In 2009, this event brought in $6,525 toward the Jose

Morales Caddie Scholarship Fund. This year, we almost doubled that when we brought in $11,115. As you can see

by the pictures, everyone had a great time!

Equipment RestorationThe golf staff is currently inspecting all golf bags stored in the bag room this winter and recommending repairs needed to your equipment. If your clubs are not in storage, but you need new grips, name tapes, etc. please call us at 847-913-8380 and we will prepare your equipment for the upcoming spring months.

Golf FitnessUnfortunately, the Chicagoland area is geographically challenged when it comes to winter golf. This does not mean that once we hang up our clubs in November that for the next 3 to 4 months our golf game should suffer. We should be using this time to strengthen and improve our bodies, our flexibility, our balance and our core muscles. By spending 15-20 minutes a day, 3-4 times a week, you may be able to play at your full potential when Spring arrives!

A wonderful fitness website we recommend is mytpi.com. You can register to become a member and have access to hundreds of articles and simple exercise routines. A solid work-out program can and will add length and consistency to your game, as well as make you feel better.

Winter Time…Is a great time to bring a potential member into the club! Our current incentive for the new member is no dues until April, 2011.

Furthermore, the club is remaining open during the months of January and February, Thursday through Saturday, for dinner in the Pub. On Saturday nights, in January and February, we will have kids’ activities too, so potential members can bring along their children as well.

2010 was a terrific year for new membership sales. With the assistance of our existing members, we had 25 new members in all categories join Royal Melbourne. Hopefully, we can match that or exceed that number in 2011, but we certainly need your help! Whether the potential member is a friend, relative, or colleague, bring them into the club to share in the camaraderie, good food, and good times!
