Le présent be -ing• Quand Michael demande à Laura ce qu’elle est en train detfaire et que Laura lui répond qu’elle répare son ordinateur,ils emploient le présentt On emploie le présent be -ing pour décrire une activité qui se passe au moment oùl’on parle. C’est, comme dans un film, un arrêt sur image.
• Contrairement au présent simple (étudié aux Stages 3,5 et 6), qui permet de dire des choses qui sont vraies tout le temps, le présent montre une activité qui se déroule au moment où l’on parle. C’est pourquoi on le trouve souvent associé à des mots comme now / at the moment / today / look! / listen!
• On emploie aussi le présent be -ing pour parler d’uneactivité que l’on a l’intention de faire. C’est pourquoi on le trouve souvent associé à des mots qui expriment le futur comme next…, tomorrow.
• Le présent be -ing se construit avec l’auxiliaire au présent + base verbale + .À la forme affirmative : sujet auxiliaire base verbale +
