Round Crochet Purse.
This is a beginner crochet pattern - the Round Crochet Purse is very easy to make (it looksmuch more difficult then it really is) and you can whip it up really fast. It can be an evening
purse for you or a bag for a girl - depending on colors and decoration. When the crochetpurse is ready you can decide how to decorate it - you can leave it as it is or add a flower(flowers) to it. For the girl you can also add applique - a duck, a snowflake, a butterfly on aflower... there are so many combinations. :)
The ready crochet bag is approximately 7 in (18 cm) in diameter if you use recommendedcrochet hook and yarn.
Recommended weightyarn:Medium to worsted weight(weight category #4) I used Red Heart
Super Saver in Orchid, Purple and LightPurple.
Recommended crochet hook size:I9 (5.5 mm) to J 10 (6.00 mm)
bbreviations and stitches used:
CH - chain, SC - single crochet, HDC -half double crochet, DC - doublecrochet, TC - treble crochet.
The gauge: 13 SC in 4'' (10 cm); 14rows in 4'' (10 cm).
Note:
SC 2 (the # of stitches is AFTER the stitch's abbreviation) means: make two singlecrochet stitches in two stitches of the previous row.
2SC (the # of stitches is BEFORE the stitch's abbreviation) means: make two single
crochet stitches in one stitch (increase).
For example, [SC 2, 2SC] means: make a SC in the first stitch, then another SC in thesecond stitch, and then make 2 SC together in the third stitch (an increase).

How to make the Round Crochet Purse: make 2 flat identical circles, sew themtogether leaving an opening (approximately 1/4 of the circle), make a handle. This beginner crochet pattern is very simple! :)
Do not make a slip stitch at the end of each row and do not make a CH stitch at
the beginning of each row, work in spirals instead - you will have no seam. Attachthe stitch marker to the end of the first or the second row to indicate it and movethe stitch marker up as the work progresses.
CH 3 Join in a ring with aslip stitch
Row #1: SC 6 in a
ring, attach a stitchmarker to the lats
stitch
Row #2: 2SC in each
stitch for all 6 stitches. The total will be 12
stitches after
completing of thisrow.
Row #3: [SC, 2 SC], repeat [ ] 6 times around the row. This means: make a SC (in thefirst stitch of the row), then make 2SC in the next following stitch (the second stitch ofthe row), then make another SC in the next following stitch (the third stitch of the row),2SC in the fourth stitch of the row and so on for 4 more times. The total = 18 stitchesafter the completing of this row.
Row #4: [SC 2, 2 SC] Repeat [ ] 6 times around the row. This means: make a SC in thefirst stitch of the row, make a SC in the second stitch of the row, make two SCs in thethird stitch of the row and repeat this pattern 5 more times. The total = 24 stitches aftercompleting of this row.
Row #5: [SC 3, 2 SC] Repeat [ ] 6 times around the row. Total = 30 stitches aftercompleting of this row.
Row #6: [SC 4, 2 SC] Repeat [ ] 6 tomes around the row. Total = 36 stitches aftercompleting of this row.
Row #7: [SC 5, 2 SC] Repeat [ ] 6 times around the row. Total = 42 stitches aftercompleting this row.

Row #8: [SC 6, 2 SC] Repeat [ ] 6 times around the row. Total = 48 stitches aftercompleting this row.
Row #9: [SC 7, 2 SC] Repeat [ ] 6 times around the row. Total = 54 stitches aftercompleting this row.
The circle should be flat. If the circle is ruffled or looks like a bowl - this means you'vemade more stitches in a row or less stitches in a row then stated in the pattern - alwayscheck the number of stitches after completing each row.
The ready flat circle. Make the secondcircle exactly as the
first one.
Place both circles together and make arow: CH 1 and SC in each SC for 38
stitches (the rest will be the opening), slipstitch.
Turn, make a row of "fringe" around: [CH3, slip stitch in the second stitch (skip
one)]. Repeat [ ] around the row until theopening, slip stitch.
Continue slip stitches around the edge ofthe opening.

The last slip stitcharound the opening
should be where both
circles join. From this
point start the handle.
The handle: make achain (how long you
want to make the
handle). P.S. I made it
long - 36 in (91.5 cm).
When the chain islong enough for thehandle, make a slip
stitch at the opposite
end of the bag'sopening.
Make slip stitchesalong the handle in the
back direction.
The ready purse :)
The almost readyround crochet purse:
you can leave it as it isor ass a crochet flower
:)
Optionally: you canadd snap fasteners tithe both sides of theopening (from the
inside).
