Rotational Takeover
Product Description
The IGN Rotational Takeover is a placement that consists of three individual elements and can run on all our pages,
with the exception of Reviews. All Takeovers include a Lead unit, at the top of the page, a Companion unit, on the
right side, and a Background Skin, which frames the content.
Because of the variety of page layouts, across our site, we will require two versions of the skin to be made however
only a single version of the Lead Unit and Companion Unit need to be designed to fit across both skins seamlessly.
Lead Unit
1) The Lead Unit appears above our content and has the option to be expandable, though this must be user-
initiated. We accept one of the following three units in this position:
1. 970x66 Blade
2. 970x180 Marquee
3. 970x250 Billboard
Companion Unit
2) The Companion Unit resides to the right of the page, in line with our content. We accept one of the following
two units in this position:
4. 300x250 MPU
5. 300x600 HPU

Background Skin
Two versions of the skin need to be made for all Rotational Takeovers but despite this only a single Lead and a single
Companion need to be designed to fit across both. Similarly we only need a single skin tracker as the skins are
hosted, and their rotation handled, on our side – 4 pieces of copy, 3 tags, 1 placement.
3) The Background skins need to be supplied to us as JPEGs, which we will site-serve. Skins are clickable so please
be sure to supply a destination URL/click tracker with the copy. Please provide both of the following:
6. A Skin template for our Channel pages can be found here
7. A Skin template for our Article pages can be found here

Important Information
Our Article Pages are responsive, to suit different screen sizes, and when we serve the Article page skins then
these too become responsive. This is handled on our end and exactly how much of the Article skin that is seen
depends on the user’s screen size.
At no point can the IGN Navigation bar, situated at the top of the page, become covered or functionally affected
by the advertising
The position of the Navigation bar differs from Channel page to Article pages.
Expanding Lead Units can either overlay the content or pushdown the content.
User-initiated (on click) expanding units can stay open indefinitely and have sound on by default.
All Expansions must be on click and not rollover.
All Expansions must have a clearly visible close button in the top right corner.
If an Auto-expanding Takeover has been booked:
This must be capped to once per-user per-day and return to click-to-expand thereafter.
The initial auto-expansion must not last longer than 8 seconds and have an obvious close button.
Sound must remain off on all auto-expansions.
