Before correcting any operationalfaults or carrying out any repair, maintenance or cleaning work, alwaysdisengage the driving system, stop theengine and remove the key from theignition! The swather is designed for a max.PTO speed of 540 rpm.Recommended PTO speed duringoperation: 350-450 U/min.The swather must never be drivenwith a 1000 rpm PTO shaft.

4.2 Basic setting

Lower the swather slowly! Keep the operating lever forthe lower link arm in the “Lower” position or move to thelowest position (floating position). The carrier bar guideroller must be at the end of the three point frame guide.Set the tractor top link so that the swather disc is horizontal or tilted slightly towards the front and thetines touch the ground lightly.

Adjusting the swather

4.4 Setting the working heightThe exact height of the swather disc is set using thecrank (1). The working height depends on the travellingspeed and the condition of the crop.

If the setting is too high then the feedwill not be lifted completely and if thesetting is too low then there is thedanger that the feed will be dirtied, the turf will be damaged and thatwear on the twin-spring tines will beincreased.

Adjusting the swather

4.6 Swath former

The distance between the swath former and the swatherdisc is infinitely adjustable for narrow or wide swaths tosuit crop conditions.

The distance between the swath former and the swatherdisc is set to suit the amount of crop.large crop = larger distancesmall crop = smaller distance

To do this:• Loosen the clamping lever (3)• Move the swath former to the desired position• Tighten the clamping lever (3) again.

The swath former can be adjusted lengthways in8 positions. This adjustment is necessary if feed fallsforward past the swath former, for example. To do this remove screws (5), put the swath former intothe desired position and replace screws (5).

To achieve optimal work results, the transverseinclination of the rotor can be changed on the left andright tandem axles.

Do not step under the rotors when theyare raised.

• To ensure this, raise the rotor just far enough to beable to perform the adjustment tasks on it.

• Remove the left and right tandem axle and mountagain in the desired position with adjustment axle.

If the forage is heavy, adjust the runninggear on the swath cloth side as low aspossible.

4.7 Travel speed and drive r.p.m.

The travel speed and drive r.p.m. are determined by:

• the feed volume• the ground conditions• the dryness

The following should be taken as starting points:

• PTO shaft speed approx. 450 r.p.m.• Forward speed approx. 8- 10 km/h

Drive r.p.m. and forward speed should be adapted to theparticular conditions each time.
