As we come to the end ofthis busy and exciting year together, I take this opportunity to expressmy gratitude for all that you have done to make 2007-08 a success. This year we have shared aspecial mission, that of growing and strengthening our wonderful organization. As I said whenwe were togetliefin SanTIiego all those months ago, Rotary Shares because Rotarians care. Rotary Shares because Rotarians know the needs. Rotary Shares because Rotarians provideService Above Self. And we need to share Rotary with others by bringing in new members.Rotary will only be able to continue sharing if it continues to grow.
We have worked very hard to make Rotary grow this year. We will not know the full measureof our success until we have the final figures after all the clubs' semi-annual reports arereceived, but I am confident in the progress we have made. I have witnessed a real vibrancy inthe places I have visited that testifies to the health and strength of Rotary. I thank you for allthat you have done in your district to help clubs increase membership so that they can increaseservice in their communities and around the world.
The opportunities and challenges we faced at the beginning of our term have developed into theaccomplishments and success we celebrate at the end ofthis wonderful year. But the end ofour year really marks the beginning of new opportunities for service and participation in all thatRotary is and does in our world. You have much to contribute, much to share. Please remaincommitted to living out the truth that Rotary Shares, because President D.K. Lee and his teamneed each and everyone of us to help Make Dreams Real during this new year.
This has been an exciting-time and I sincerely hope that you-have foulld it fe-be rewmding-andfulfilling. Serving as a district governor has provided you with unique opportunities. Icommend you for ajob well done.
Please accept my best wishes as we return to our ordinary lives and home clubs. I know thatyou will continue to share Rotary through fellowship and service in your clubs, in yourcommunities and around the world and by inviting qualified individuals into your clubs andencouraging others to do the same.
Kind regards,
Wilfrid 1. Wilkinson
