Legacy Luncheon Congratulations to Alexia, Bridget, Tameisha and Will who represented our school at the Inverell Legacy President’s luncheon last Sunday. The students heard about the work that Legacy does in supporting the families of veterans and met Legatees from different parts of NSW. Our students sat with local legatee Brad Lewis and the President of Port Macquarie Hastings Legacy Ken Fahey and his wife Rosalynd. Ross Hill would like to thank Inverell Legacy for the opportunity to join in the President's luncheon.
Staff Farewells All the students and staff at Ross Hill would like to thank Mr Preston Connors and acknowledge his dedication and service to Ross Hill as he leaves us to take up a position as Aboriginal Education Officer at Tingha Public School starting Term 2. Preston has
been a long-time staff member and respected football coach. He will be sadly missed! We would like to wish him the very best at his new school.
We would also like to wish Mrs Margarete Coddington the very best as she has accepted the position of Relieving Principal at Gum Flat Public School. Kinder Purple will welcome Mrs Nadine Fuller to the teaching role full-time, a position that she has been undertaking in a
part-time capacity. During Term 2 Mrs Jessicca Gartshore will be the Relieving Assistant Principal for Early Stage One. ANZAC Day March Ross Hill students and staff are invited to attend the RSM ANZAC Day March and Ceremony on Tuesday 25th April. Students are asked to wear their sports uniform, their school hat and joggers. We will meet at 10:15am in Evans Street, at the Art Gallery and join in the march at 10:30am. The ANZAC Day Ceremony will then be held at the War Memorial in front of the Town Pool at 11.00am. Our SRC leaders will lay a wreath on behalf of Ross Hill. Parents can collect their children at the War Memorial at the conclusion of the service. We hope everyone can join us at the march.

Library News David Walliams - The new Roald Dahl?
Recently during library lessons, Stage 3 students
have enjoyed studying David Walliams’ books. Apart
from being an actor, comedian and judge on
“Britain’s Got Talent” David Walliams is currently
the fastest growing Children’s book author in the UK
and his books have been translated into 46
languages. With titles such as, Gangsta Granny,
Demon Dentist, Awful Auntie, Mr Stink and The
World’s Worst Children Walliams appeals to readers
through his wonderfully skilful use of humour and
charm. His writing style has been likened to that of
Roald Dahl- Walliam’s self-professed hero. There is
a fabulous website where students can meet the
characters and listen to extracts of all the books
read by Walliams.

Walliams’ brand new book “Grandpa’s Great
Escape” is available for purchase in Inverell.

Senior’s Fabric Dyeing Workshops
I would like to say a big thankyou to Mrs Turner and Mrs Walburn and the parents that helped out for the successful day we had. We learnt new skills through out this workshop. We have made these beautiful pieces of wearable art, such as socks. First we soaked the socks, then we wrung them out. We chose whatever dye we wanted, for example, blue and purple. We dipped the material in, then squeezed the excess dye out and let it dry. We learnt a lot more like, heliography, marble effect using shaving cream to swirl. You use shaving cream and print off the foam. We also tye dyed a T-shirt and did 5 finger blending to make crystals. It was hard for some people or easy. I found some difficult, but in the end we all got there. It was so much fun. The next workshop will be a sewing workshop and we will learn how to sew. If you don’t know how, see how you go at learning some new skills. You could even make clothing. Report by Torah Youll, SE. On Monday 27th March, some students from SC, SE and SW students did a fabric dyeing workshop. I has so much fun learning new techniques and helpful things to know for the future. Everyone learnt how to dye T shirts, socks and we even did our own marbling art work. It was lots of fun to learn and do new things ourselves. We saw lots of Mrs Turner’s work that she has done in the past. It was really cool. I loved everything I made and what everyone else made. It was all very cool. The workshop helped me learn things that I have never learnt before. Thanks Mrs Turner, Mrs Walburn, Mr Boney and Mrs Germany for all your help. I would do the fabric workshop one million times again. Report by Imarlee Cox SW
