BENEFITS OF ART THERAPY

Art therapy can be very beneficial for older adults living with memory loss, as

well as those who need to manage stress or pain. Art therapy can be a way to

communicate and also paint something from memory about a loved one or

favourite place. Pictured below is George Byrne, Kathleen Gallagher, Kahtleen

Findlay, Beth Sim, Rod Ellis, Gloria and Irwin Foster enjoying their art class

and showing off their master pieces. We will be entering their work in the art

section of our local show in February 2019. Also we will be framing some

pieces and displaying arround our facility.

Residents Leisure and Lifestyle program has implemented many activities to

accommodate what they would like to be involved in.

Our pet fashion parade supporting Chill in Glen this week end certainly took

out first prize. Volunteers Judy from RSPCA and Amanda from Salvation Army

were amongst the organisers. Our man of the day RAO Brian leading the way in

the bridal party in which residents were thrilled with. Thanks to everyone that

helped, we are looking at holding a pet parade monthly with the opportunity for

staff to be involved. Keep eye on your monthly programs. Resident’s programs

are on all notice boards in the facility
