To Whom It May Concern: I am writing to you in response to parking ticket number 4559475, which I received on Au- gust 21, 2011 for parking overnight on the residential side (as opposed to the Downes Field side) of Highland Road, next to house number 29. The violation code listed on the ticket is 21: On Street Overnight Violation (Over 1 Hour Between 2am-6am). I have attached a copy of this ticket for your convenience. I am a resident of Connecticut, and was in Brookline to visit my friend, who lives on High- land Road. As a non-resident of Brookline and the state of Massachusetts, I am unfamiliar with the overnight parking laws of the area and, therefore, had to rely on the street signs on the road. Unfortunately, the street signs on Highland Road are not only sparse but also extremely unclear. The only street sign I saw was on the Downes Field side of the road, and read, “No Parking This Side.” In addition to implying that parking is allowed on the residential side, the sign made no mention of when parking is and is not available and, therefore, led me to believe that parking is allowed on the residential side of the street 24 hours a day. Based on the lack of clear communication of the parking laws of the road, as demon- strated above, I respectfully request that the assessed fine be waived. I also invite you to check out what my bros had to say about this situation. To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to you in response to parking ticket number 4559475, which I received on Au-

gust 21, 2011 for parking overnight on the residential side (as opposed to the Downes

Field side) of Highland Road, next to house number 29. The violation code listed on the

ticket is 21: On Street Overnight Violation (Over 1 Hour Between 2am-6am). I

have attached a copy of this ticket for your convenience.

I am a resident of Connecticut, and was in Brookline to visit my friend, who lives on High-

land Road. As a non-resident of Brookline and the state of Massachusetts, I am unfamiliar

with the overnight parking laws of the area and, therefore, had to rely on the street signs

on the road. Unfortunately, the street signs on Highland Road are not only sparse but also

extremely unclear. The only street sign I saw was on the Downes Field side of the road,

and read, “No Parking This Side.” In addition to implying that parking is allowed on the

residential side, the sign made no mention of when parking is and is not available and,

therefore, led me to believe that parking is allowed on the residential side of the street 24

hours a day.

Based on the lack of clear communication of the parking laws of the road, as demon-

strated above, I respectfully request that the assessed fine be waived. I also invite you to

check out what my bros had to say about this situation.

Regards,

Colin Rosenberg
