  • Rosenbauer CL Compact Line

The pressure on the fire services is growing steadily, for although a decreasing number of fire fighters is available and budgets are shrinking, assignments and operations are becoming even more complex. Accordingly, with its Compact Line (CL) on a Mercedes Benz Sprinter chassis, Rosenbauer has designed a modern, compact and highly efficient municipal fire fighting vehicle, which offers a wealth of possibilities.

The light, space-saving sandwich design allows the cre-ation of panel truck and spacious superstructures without interior profiles or transverse walls. Moreover, the variable COMFORT storage system ensures easy access to every item of equipment, while revolving shelves and pullouts fa-cilitate ergonomic removal. The stable, vertical rear pullout provides safe and functional equipment storage with lateral access. With its compact dimensions and low weight, the CL superstructure concept furnishes a great deal of space for the crew and equipment, without sacrificing either safety or performance. Maximum flexibility is available for the design of individual fire fighting vehicles and in every case Rosenbauer realizes a customized solution.

Indeed with the Mercedes Benz Sprinter from the CL series, it can truly be said that Rosenbauer has set new benchmarks with regard to design, form and function.

  • MB Sprinter as a panel truck.Individual superstructure. Maximum use of space.

Compact and maneuverable panel trucks are ideal multipurpose vehicles for any fire service. Nonetheless, every unit has its own particular requirements and ideas and it is precisely in this regard that the CL Compact Line offers remark-able diversity. This allows the Sprinter to be equipped exactly as requested, in order to ensure that firefighters, equipment and extinguishing technology all arrive safely at the operational scene.

Every Mercedes Benz Sprinter offers three key features:1. A spacious crew cabin with comfortable seats, standard safety belts and up to three SCBA seats. 2. A control panel on the dashboard for the centralized operation of all signal systems. 3. Individually designed superstructures using the COMFORT storage system for the perfect equipment payload and optimum use of vehicle space.

  • MB Sprinter panel truck with rear loading.Ergonomics that put a complete range of equipment at your fingertips. As a result of the flexible COMFORT storage system, the rear-loaded Mercedes Benz Sprinter panel truck allows the orderly storage and safe transportation of a large equipment payload. At the scene of an emergency, this can be removed from the vehicle quickly and ergonomically, while the stable, verti-cal pullout at the back provides lateral access.

Wide, sliding doors offers the crew additional room for manoeuvre and they can easily enter or exit the vehicle while wearing breathing apparatus. The large window allows plenty of light into the crew cabin and the additional advantage of a good all-around view. Last, but not least, this type of superstructure does not require any changes to the body of the original panel truck providing costeffective solutions.

  • MB Sprinter with CL lightweight superstructure (4x2, 4x4).

    Low weight. High payload volume.

As a result of a lightweight superstructure, which is free of irritating partition walls and profiles, the 5.3 t Mercedes Benz Sprinter is a genuine all-rounder. A sandwich design structure with CNC laser cut, beveled sheet edges and the latest aluminum technology provides a low profile light weight and extremely stable and maneuverable vehicle. These features also add up to a great deal of space for equipment, which due to the low removal height, can be handled in a safer and most ergonomic man-ner. The integrated crew cabin is designed for a 1 + 8 team, divided up in a 2 + 3 + 4 formation, which provides an additional storage surface between the driver and the co-driver. The overall concept saves weight and thus offers extra storage capacity on the end-to-end roof.

  • The CL series on the MB Sprinter.

    Unequalled versatility.

Rosenbauers concept functions in a simple manner. After chassis selection and definition of the requirements related to the new vehicle, an experienced Rosenbauer sales team designs a customized vehicle in close cooperation with the client. Customer interaction during the entire production process ensures a perfectly matching product.

An individual Mercedes Benz Sprinter superstructure is created with the assis-tance of innovative 3D CAD technology and during production industrial manu-facturing techniques are employed in combination with the latest aluminum know-how. Light, CNC laser-cut and beveled aluminum sheets are mounted on the chassis using modern bonding and bolting techniques in coordinated work-ing processes, and sandwich plates are utilized to provide increased stability in combination with low superstructure weight.

Standardized components are manufactured in continuous and systematically organized processes with quality assurance controls during every phase. Each component matches perfectly and this production approach guarantees uniform quality, professional services and a secure supply of spare parts over a long period.

The spacious, sandwich design superstructure is self-supporting and therefore does not require an additional frame. This results in a low height and compact superstructure width of just 2,200 mm, which for the crew means a pleasant entry height and comfortable equipment removal without the need for a footplate.

These dimensions also provide the Mercedes Benz Sprinter with its enormous maneuverability and offer considerable advantages in narrow streets and entrances, underpasses and low firehouses.

    Rosenbauer CL Compact Line

The crew cabin in the Mercedes Benz Sprinter is separated from the equipment compartments by a tested, safety parti-tion wall, which provides increased safety. Moreover, every seat is fitted with an approved seatbelt.

The FOX offers maximum perfor-mance at minimum weight.

The portable FOX pump offers out-put of 1,600 l/min at 10 bar. This maximum output at minimum weight is further supplemented by simple operation via the Rosenbauer Logic Control System (LCS). For versions that are integrated into vehicles, the control panel can be mounted on the operator side thus ensuring that the FOX retains its user-friendliness.

Extinguishing technology forms the heart of every fire fighting vehicle. Therefore, especially for small vehicles, Rosenbauer has developed a vast range of highly efficient extinguishing systems, which are ideal for integration into the lightweight, space-saving CL series superstructures.

All extinguishing technology components are developed and manufactured by Rosenbauer and are then perfectly integrated into individual superstructures. This provides the certainty that the ex-tinguishing technology constantly functions fault-free and offers top performance in combination with robustness and a long service life.

  • *) Pump performance is always dependent upon the respective auxiliary drive.

The N10 normal pressure pump, the compact power package.

The compact dimensions and low weight of the N10 make it unbeatable as an integrated pump. Limited drive require-ments of only 38 kW for a pump output of up to 1,500 l/min at 10 bar*). For the N10 an underfloor installation is pos-sible, providing even better space availability in the rear compartment.

LCS (Logic Control System) for the ergonomic operation of all Rosenbauer pumps.

LCS allows the use of a diversity of pump functions, foam proportioning systems, CAFS systems and power generators. The main control path is highlighted in color and runs from top to bottom, which allows operators to logically follow the correct procedure. Moreover, all the controls are backlit for smooth operation in poor light or darkness.

    CL Compact Line Rosenbauer

UHPS provides maximum pressure for high-speed fire fighting.

UHPS is perfectly matched to the needs relating to high-speed fire fighting. The pump can either be powered by a petrol engine or an auxiliary drive and delivers 38 l/min at 100 bar*). Exhaustive tests in Austria and the USA have demonstrated the extreme effectiveness of the system. The ultra high pressure of 100 bar provides best water mist at a most effective flow rate ensuring quickest cool down and best cooling performance. UHPS is equipped with a non-collapsible, high-pressure hose as a standard feature and using a combined nozzle, it is possible to select between full and spray jets, and switch over to foam without interrupting the extinguishing process.
