1 Dear Parents and Carers This me of year is always a very busy one for everyone in school, and staff and students have been engaged in a number of acvies despite the unusually high summer temperatures. Sarah Atherton, our Year 12 Wellbeing Ambassador, supported by a number of sixth formers have put together a fantasc programme for Wellbeing Week. Students have taken the opportunity to engage in mindfulness acvies, designed to help relax and to alleviate anxiety, including colouring, yoga and sessions with therapy dogs. Mrs Keaveney organised a superb series of workshops for Women in Engineering Day, and we were very grateful for the contribuons of Atkins, the Environment Agency, Brooklands and LGC who met with students and gave very praccal representaons of the significance of engineering to all aspects of our lives. Many students also enjoyed a very praccal robocs workshop aſter school which allowed them to test their problem-solving and technical skills. One of the reasons we decided to join a mul-academy trust was to provide students with the opportunity to work with others. I am very pleased, therefore, that we were part of the GLF Music Fesval on Thursday evening where our singing groups, as always, delighted the audience. It was a pleasure to welcome back so many of our Year 11 students to our Sixth Form Inducon Day which we hope gave a sense to all of the academic challenge and personal enrichment that is on offer to those who decide to join us. our Year 13 Prom. These students have worked so hard, particularly over the last few months, and it was lovely to see such a terrific year group relaxing and enjoying themselves in the sunshine. I am very grateful to Mr Phillips, Miss Kent, Mrs Cooley and all the staff who contributed to the organisation and the supervision of the event late into the night and in so doing missed England’s latest World Cup adventures!

Open Evening

A reminder that we close at 1.10pm on Thursday in preparation for Open Evening and then students will not be expected in school until 9.30am on Friday as we know so many of them will be here late to support one of our landmark events of the year. Students should go straight to tutor time when they arrive on Friday and lessons will start with P2.

The hot weather is due to continue into next week and therefore students will continue to be allowed to leave their blazers and jumpers at home.

Have a lovely, sunny weekend.

District Rounders

On a very hot Tuesday we had some fantastic success at the District Rounders competition. The Year 8 A and B teams both came second in the District playing some excellent rounders and narrowly missing out on first place to St Teresa’s School.

Our Year 9 team took home the title in style by beating all opponents very convincingly. They are currently unbeaten this year and also won the NSSSA tournament a few weeks ago.

Well done to all the girls who took part in some very difficult conditions.

STUDENT NEWS

In June Rosebery School attended the Epsom and Ewell Dance show at Epsom Playhouse to dance in front of a packed audience, including over 20 other schools.

The girls performed brilliantly and were a credit to Rosebery School. They have been attending Dance Club since September and their routine demonstrated how committed they have been as it was creative and well-rehearsed.

The girls performed to a medley of songs and were the ‘stand out’ performers on the night.

Well done to Jess F, Emma H, Sofia P, Emily W and Ava C.
