Dear NCC Family and Friends,

We are so excited this semester to offer a variety of Life Groups and

Home Groups from which to choose. Life Groups are an essential way

for us to build healthy Christ-centered relationships through

fellowship, discipleship, prayer and serving together. Each Life Group

and Home Group leader has been qualified to share their area of pas-

sion or expertise with you. Please prayerfully consider which group to

join, and be a part of something that may change your life. Our

ongoing theme this semester is “Life Matters”. The Bible says in

Col 2:6-7, “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue

to live in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as

you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” The root is the

part of a plant which provides stability and nourishment for the plant.

Let us use this semester to strengthen our roots.

Have a great semester!

Karen Morgan, Life Group Pastor

Characteristics of Home Groups

The Home Group meets around a common interest in sharing life in

Christ, and this results in discipleship, ministry, prayer, love, evangelism.

Building relationships, including love and trust within a small group or

family of Christians, is a key component of Home Groups, rather than

teaching material or gathering information.

They meet continuously, usually with a one year commitment. They

can take breaks whenever they decide and these may coincide with the

semester schedule.

They can meet weekly or bi-weekly.

Groups may meet in the same home or they may rotate as they

choose. They may have fun times and events to build relationships.

They have four or more people attending regularly, plus the leader.

They develop and identify an apprentice leader. It is an important goal

to develop group members into future leaders.

Each meeting includes one or more of the following: worship, prayer,

Bible study, testimonies, fellowship, a meal or snacks, ministry, and group

participation.

They welcome new people into the group at any time and people can

leave at any time, though they are encouraged to commit to 3-4 months

period.

They encourage members to invite people who are outside the

church.

They are supported and encouraged by Pastors and Directors, who

also provide resources.

Groups may form around different age groups, interests, minis-

tries, shared hobbies, couples, singles, spiritual needs. geographic ar-

eas, etc. Their study will vary according to the needs and interests of the

group.

The group fosters and develops long friendships in a discipling,

mentoring atmosphere.

Unless specified, they welcome new people into the group at any time during the semester.

They are supported and empowered by Pastors and Directors.

Empowering Family

IMPACT FAMILY A top priority of NCC Impact Family Ministry is to partner with parents by coming alongside them and helping them to become the primary disciplers of their children. Our mid-week ministry opportunity is one important component of this mission. We begin at 6:30 pm and end at 8:00 pm. Our middle school and high school students meet for worship, teaching, and small groups. Our children attend age appropriate small groups. They will focus on theme related studies that promote an “explore and discovery” model of learning on how to walk the spirit filled life along with important character traits and virtues that should accompany a Christian lifestyle. For more information contact: Pastor Melanie Robertson - 627-9000

COVENANT MINISTRY TRAINING INSTITUTE (CMTI) is a one year

program that provides a vehicle to train local church leaders using

bible college material taught by inspired and experienced instructors in

a local church setting. This allows for the local church to provide

quality monthly bible college courses while still imparting local church

DNA into their leaders. The classroom work and other ministry

experiences may be transferred to Vision International, an accredited

bible college, where the student can continue their education and earn

a degree. CMTI can be established in any US church and with minor

modifications can be implemented internationally.
