4 NOB HILL Ritzy styling and an upscale attitude set Nob Hill into a class all its own when it comes to iconic San Francisco neighborhoods. Stunning views of the city are equally matched by graceful properties and grounds. Nob Hill is a great place for enjoying a cocktail at a luxurious lounge, or taking in the stunning architecture of Grace Cathedral.

CABLE CARS As the last functioning manually operated cable car system in the world, San Francisco's most endearing form of public transportation has been in use since 1878. This system creates a part of the city's intermodal transport network and is a fun, historic way of getting around the city.

Things to Do in SFO CHINATOWN

Step through the "Dragon's Gate" and find yourself absorbed into the midst of a bustling hive of activity in Chinatown. Home to multiple cultural landmarks and attractions such as restaurants, shops, street vendors and temples, Chinatown is perfect for exotic gift shopping in the city.

LITTLE ITALY (NORTH BEACH) When it comes to authentic Italian food in the City on the Bay, look no further than Little Italy. Just removed from the notorious but historic adult entertainment on Broadway, the narrow streets of Little Italy tell whispered secrets from the locale's Italian heritage. It's a great place to get real Italian cuisine and take in the sights from a sidewalk café.

UNION SQUARE SHOPPING The architectural highlights and swaying palm trees in Union Square will put tourists in the mood for a little bit of retail therapy while visiting San Francisco. With names like Macy's, Tiffany & Co., Apple, Gucci, Prada, Celine, Guess and many others, there's no shortage of shopping options.

COIT TOWER The Lilian Coit Memorial Tower was built in 1934 in memory of an eccentric benefactor of the San Francisco volunteer fire department. The slender white concrete tower features an observation deck, and is a mainstay of the iconic skyline of the city and historic Telegraph Hill neighborhood.

FISHERMAN'S WARF/PIER 39 Full of bizarre and endearing family entertainment venues, including Ripley's Believe It or Not! Museum, this working wharf is a great opportunity for visitors to experience the sea-faring history of the area. Pier 39 showcases festive shopping venues and cool boutiques. Don't forget to visit the sea lions that have taken up permanent residence.

EMBARCADERO For flawless San Francisco Bay vistas, look no further than the Embarcadero. Built on a strip of engineered seawall over a piece of reclaimed land, this eastern waterfront and roadway of the Port of San Francisco provides tourists and residents alike with a walking path around the perimeter of the city and unmatched views of sights like Treasure Island, the Bay Bridge, Angel Island and Alcatraz Island just to name a few.

GOLDEN GATE PARK The impressive Golden Gate Park provides city residents and tourists with over 1,000 acres of green space to play in. The park features museums, botanical gardens (including a Japanese garden), lakes, and walking and bike paths.

GOLDEN GATE BRIDGE Spanning the Golden Gate Strait, this timeless suspension bridge has long been a mainstay of San Francisco culture and is a must-see attraction.

YERBA BUENA GARDENS Spend a day at the Yerba Buena Gardens and relax in the shadows of some of San Francisco's most iconic structures. With two blocks marked out for public recreation and fun, this grassy space is perfect for a game of Frisbee or a romantic, playful picnic in the city.

Things to Do in SFO ALCATRAZ

One of San Francisco's most popular tourist attractions, Alcatraz is often referred to as "The Rock." Formerly a military prison (1868), and a federal prison from 1933 until 1963, the iconic landmark is a must see.

LOMBARD STREET The eight hairpin turns of Lombard Street are enough to challenge even the most experienced driver. This one-block section of street is famous for steep angles and beautiful landscaping. Locals either embrace it or stay far, far away from it when in a car, but tourists can't get enough. Even if you don't have the nerve to drive it, take the cable car to the top for great city views.
