Admixture for Surface Bond Coats and Steel Reinforcement Primer

Description

Ronafix is a high performance water based SBR polymer. When mixed with OPC it will form a monolithic bond between Ronafix concrete repair mortar, Ronafix screed, Ronafix render, cement/sand render and the substrate concrete.

It is also used as a steel reinforcement primer to protect the steel against corrosion.

Specification ClauseThe Surface Bond Coats and Steel Reinforcement Primer shall be Ronafix for Bond Coats by Ronacrete (Far East) Limited, tel (852) 2865 5872. All materials to be applied in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.

Technical Data

PackagingRonafix is supplied in 5, 30 and 220 litres drum.

PreparationAny debris, surface snots, loose material or mould release oil on the concrete surface must be removed using appropriate means. Thoroughly saturate the concrete surface with clean, cold water.

MixingMix 1 part of Ronafix with 1 part of cement (By Volume) or 1 part of Ronafix with 1.5 parts of cement (By Weight). Initially, mix continuously for at least 3 minutes using an electric drill with paddle, until all cement has been wetted out and uniform homogeneous slurry is achieved. Allow the mixture to rest for at least 5 minutes and re-mix the material for another 1 minute before applying the bond coat mixture to the surface. The mixed bond coat should be kept in the mixing vessel and protected from direct sunlight. The mixed bond coat should be used within 2 hours of initial mixing.

InstallationEnsure the concrete surface is saturated and free of running or ponding water. Use brush or roller; apply the bond coat to the concrete surface until the concrete surface is fully covered with the bond coat. Limit the application of bond coat to an area that will have the mortar applied to the surface whilst the bond coat is still tacky.

Shelf Life and StorageShelf life is 9 months. Store in a cool and dry conditions in the original and unopened packaging. Exposure to high humidity and high temperature may reduce the shelf life.

Health and SafetyProtective clothing such as goggles, overalls and gloves is recommended to prevent any effect from prolonged skin contact, inhalation or ingestion. Refer to Health and Safety Data Sheet.
