beginning of Vocabulary Unit 4 and mark prepositional

phrases in three sentences with red pen and bracket two

examples of infinitives in the passage.

1. Teacher Model- Both Friar Laurence’s Soliloquy

and Raphael’s School of Athens highlight defining

characteristics of the Renaissance, one

individualism and the other classicism.

Individualism is highlighted through Friar

Laurence’s comparison between the natural and

human world, and Classicism through Raphael’s

choice to include several specific ties to ancient

Greece. The inclusion of these enhances the

audience’s understanding of each piece, and their

message of valuing the individual and knowledge

of the past.

rebels against conventional forms of artwork. Graffiti is

intertwined into human history, dating back to the Roman

Empires where they were plastered onto walls to make

graffiti achieves many of the same things – to state a message

that uses color, form, and symbolism to reach its audience.
