UN denounces Vatican over child abuse

The United Nations on Wednesday accused the Vatican of systematically turning a blind eye to decades of sexual abuse of children by priests, and demanded it immediately turn over known or suspected offenders to civil justice. In a scathingly blunt report, the U.N. Committee on the Rights of the Child said Church officials had imposed a "code of silence" on clerics and moved abusers from parish to parish "in an attempt to cover up such crimes". The Vatican called the report "distorted" and "unfair" and said the United Nations had ignored steps taken in the past decade to protect children. The combative exchange sets the scene for the Vatican's biggest clash with the United Nations since 1994. The committee said it was "gravely concerned that the Holy See has not acknowledged the extent of the crimes committed.

Report: Vatican pushing for control of Mount Zion

Christian leaders reportedly pressured Israel to turn over control of Mount Zion in Jerusalem during a clandestine meeting of senior city officials. The meeting took place Tuesday in the office of Attorney Amnon Merhav, the director-general of the Jerusalem municipality. It was attended by officials from the Prime Minister’s Office, President’s Office, Tourism Ministry, Police, Kotel Rabbi’s Office, and more. During the meeting, representatives of Christian groups in the capital pushed Jerusalem leaders to give the Catholic Church control over the Mount Zion area that includes the “Hall of the Last Supper.” There have been reports that Israel’s government is planning to turn the building in question over to the Vatican prior to the Pope’s expected visit in May. Pope Francis is expected to visit Israel and to lead a service in the Hall of the Last Supper.

Zion is mention over 150 times in the Bible. Mount Zion is mentioned 21 times.So what is Mount Zion? In ancient times Jerusalem was divided by a valley and there were two key mounts. This valley is pretty much filled in with rubble from Jerusalem’s many destructions. But the two key mounts were Mount Moriah and Mount Zion. Both part of Jerusalem. Mount Moriah was where the temple was built. Mount Zion was where David’s palace was built. One mount is for the priest – one mount is for the king.The other significant mount in Jerusalem is the Mount of Olives. Jesus ascended from here and will return to the same spot. This mount represents the work of the mediator. The mount of Olives will be divided in two when Christ returns symbolising that his work of a mediator is finished. The saints will be united with him being made immortal. It is interesting though that the Pope craves the mount of the king….

Barack Obama meets Pope Francis for the first time

President Barack Obama is holding a historic first meeting with Pope Francis, the pontiff that the president views as a kindred spirit on issues of economic inequality and the poor. Mr Obama arrived at the Vatican on Thursday morning amid the pomp and tradition of the Catholic Church, making his way to greet the pope after a long, slow procession. The pontiff and the president shook hands before sitting down with their translators at a wooden table for their meeting. "Wonderful to be here," Mr Obama said, calling it "a great honour”. As they meet, the six-year president, with his sinking poll numbers, would not be blamed for seeking some reflected glory from a pope who, one year into his pontificate, is viewed as an agent of change in the Roman Catholic Church. Mr Obama is the ninth president to make an official visit to the Vatican.

World leaders queue up to meet the Pope. In the last 12 months he has been visited by many, many presidents and kings. This week Obama has paid him a visit. Others include Angela Merkel (German ruler), Vladimir Putin (Russia), François Hollande (France), Archbishop of Canterbury (head of Church of England), King Abdullah (Jordan), Benjamin Netanyahu (Israel) and many more. Which other leader (either political or religious) has such a following? The kings of the earth all want an audience with this man. They are intoxicated by the power he holds over 1 billion people. How they would like power like his! Power for life! Influence, wealth and the hearts and minds of the masses. The Bible said this would be so. In the book of Revelation we read of a harlot sitting on 7 hills. The harlot is symbolic of a false religion. The 7 hills are Rome. But the false religion of Rome will come to an end….

Queen meets Pope Francis for first time at Vatican

The Queen has met Pope Francis for the first time, during a one-day visit to the Italian capital, Rome. The meeting in the Vatican was described as a private one and pomp and protocol were kept to a minimum. Earlier, the Queen and Prince Philip had lunch with the Italian President, Giorgio Napolitano, and his wife Clio at the Quirinal Palace.The Queen gave the Pontiff a hamper of British produce and received a lapis lazuli orb for baby Prince George. It is the Queen's first foreign trip since a visit to Australia in 2011. The Queen and the Pope exchanged gifts inside the Vatican. Pope Francis gave the Queen a royal orb made of lapis lazuli with a silver cross on top, for her baby great-grandson Prince George. The orb is an emblem of royal power which the ancient Romans used to represent the universe, before it was adapted by Christians who added a cross on top to represent the world under Christianity.

Last week we wrote about world leaders queuing up to meet the Pope. Last week it was President Obama who paid him a visit. This week is was the turn of the Queen.The Queen is more significant than one may imagine. Her Biblical titles would read as follows – Royal ruler of Tarshish, latter day Queen of Sheba, Daughter of Tyre.The Queen is specifically mentioned in Isaiah 23! We are told in v15 that Tyre will be forgotten for 70 years according to the days of one king (Royal ruler). Tyre is NOT referring to ancient Tyre because it was destroyed at the beginning of the chapter. We are told in v6 that Tyre passes to….Tarshish (Britain). Therefore Tyre in v15 exists in Britain. Therefore the royal ruler is in v15 is British. We are told in v23 that Tyre will commit fornication with the kingdoms of the world. The Queen committed this this week

Man killed by giant crucifix dedicated to Pope

An Italian man was crushed to death on Thursday by a giant crucifix dedicated to the late Pope John Paul II, just days before the Polish pontiff will be made a saint in a ceremony at the Vatican. In a bizarre coincidence, the 21-year-old man was reported to have been living in a street named after Pope John XXIII – who will also be canonised in the ceremony on Sunday, in an event that is unprecedented in the 2,000 year history of the Catholic Church. The man, named as Marco Gusmini, was posing for a photograph with a group of friends in front of the 100ft-high cross when it suddenly collapsed. A large, 20ft-high statue of Christ the Redeemer was attached to the crucifix, which was created for John Paul II’s visit to Brescia in 1998.

Tomorrow Pope John Paul II will be “made a saint”. According to the Vatican there are 3 things you need to become a saint. 1. You need to be a catholic. 2. You must have led a saintly life. 3. You must do 2 miracles (after your dead). Finally you must hope that a Pope and his bishops will declare you are a saint. The process normally takes decades – sometimes centuries. This pope has been rushed through in a few years. John Paul II has apparently performed 3 miracles since dying in 2005 managing to cure 2 women who were seriously ill. To celebrate being made a saint a giant crucifix was made (100ft tall) and dedicated to Pope John Paul II. Just two days before the celebrations begin the crucifix snapped in half and fell to the ground killing a man. The Bible tells us not to make any graven image to bow down to and to worship it. See Lev 26v1. This includes a graven image of a man or woman. See Deut 4v16. God sometimes shows his displeasure at such images. We read in Samuel of a graven image called Dagon. It was toppled over by God and its head and hands were broken off. Has it happened again?

The unexpected gesture in the cradle of Christianity came as the Pope was en route to Manger Square. Ordering his white Pope-mobile to stop, he clambered out and pressed his forehead head against the wall, which Israel began building a decade ago in order to keep suicide bombers from launching attacks on Jerusalem. Palestinians have long regarded it as a symbol of their oppression, and the section that the Pope chose to stop at bore spray-painted graffiti saying “Free Palestine” In another surprise initiative, the Pontiff, who is on a three-day tour of the Middle East, announced efforts to try to revive the Arab-Israeli peace process, which broke down last month.

Back in the year 2000 Pope Paul II became the first Pope in history to make an official visit to Israel. He placed a prayer on the Western Wall. Then in 2009 Pope Benedict became the first Pope in history to enter the Dome of the Rock. And now in 2014 another Pope visits Israel and once more places a prayer on the Western Wall and enters Dome of the Rock. These sites are extremely significant. The Western Wall is the last remaining structure of the retaining wall of Temple in Jerusalem. The Dome of the Rock is the actual site not only of the Tabernacle but also where the Most Holy Place was situated. While there Pope Francis called for the 'State of Palestine’ to be created. The Pope invited the president of Israel and president of the Palestinians for a prayer meeting at the Vatican on June 8. He seems determined to intervene in the “peace process”. We know that the “man of sin” will only bring destruction on Israel…

Pope Francis makes his first official visit to Israel

President Shimon Peres will head to the Vatican on Sunday to participate in an interfaith peace prayer event at the invitation of Pope Francis. Francis issued the invitation to Peres and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas during his visit last week to Jordan, Israel, and the Palestinian Authority. According to a statement released by Peres’s spokesperson, Abbas, Peres, and Francis will be joined by Jewish, Christian and Islamic religious leaders. The event will feature readings about peace by the clergy from the Tanach, the New Testament and the Quran. Francis will then read religious verses with Peres and Abbas, which the three will have selected for the ceremony. Israel’s delegation, which the Chief Rabbinate helped to select, will include members of the local Jewish, Druze and Muslim communities.

It is because the peace process has failed that the Pope has decided he needs to intervene. It is a desperate attempt to avoid conflict. On his visit to Israel last week Pope Francis invited the heads of Israel and the Palestinians for a prayer meeting at the Vatican. It has become a bigger event with religious leaders from all main faiths attending. The pope said lasting peace would require the "acknowledgement by all of the right of two states to live in peace and security within internationally recognized borders.” This prayer meeting will be an historic event. There cannot have been many times when all faiths have been gathered to the Vatican for prayer about Israel. And who is heading the meeting – the Pope! The word Catholic means “Universal” and this is why Rome sees herself as the “Mother Church”. All other religions are her offspring. The Bible describes the false religion of Rome as a harlot woman with the word “mother” on her head. The prayer meeting may lead to sudden destruction not peace.

Vatican hosts historic prayer summit for peace

Pope Francis welcomed Israeli President Shimon Peres and Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas to the Vatican on Sunday in an attempt to broker peace between Israel and the Palestinians.Hosting an evening of prayers for peace in Israel, Peres and Abbas joined the pope over a sunset invocation of Jewish, Christian and Muslim prayers. Francis told both leaders that he hoped the prayer summit would mark “a new journey” toward peace.The Vatican also invited the spiritual leader of the Orthodox Christian church to present a united Christian front in supporting peace in Israel.The pope urged Israel and the Palestinians to open up dialogue and usher in a new era of coexistence. He invoked the memory of children killed by war and conflict between the two sides to instill patience and strength to bring about peace.

There were three men here praying for peace. None of them have the peace in mind that God has for His land and His city Jerusalem. Each of them (for their own personal agenda’s) want Israel and Jerusalem to be divided. That is the peace they are praying for. The Palestinian leader wants Israel divided because he wants his own state. He does not recognise Israel as a Jewish state. The Israeli leader believes that peace with the Palestinians can only be achieved by giving them what they want. Eg half of the land of Israel and half of Jerusalem. The Pope has a slightly different agenda. He too wants Israel and Jerusalem divided but not because he likes the Palestinians. It is because the Vatican has a doctrine that God has cast off Israel. Muslims have been called to flock to the 'Islamic State' to gather for a battle against non-believers throughout the world. Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, the self-proclaimed leader of the 'Islamic State' stretching across Iraq and Syria, has vowed to lead the conquest of Rome as he called on Muslims to immigrate to his new land to fight under its banner around the globe. Baghdadi, who holds a PhD in Islamic studies, said Muslims were being targeted and killed from China to Indonesia. Speaking as the first Caliph, or commander of the Islamic faithful since the dissolution of the Ottoman empire, he called on Muslims to rally to his pan-Islamic state. "Rush O Muslims to your state. It is your state. Syria is not for Syrians and Iraq is not for Iraqis. The land is for the Muslims, all Muslims. If you hold to it you will conquer Rome and own the world.”

The situation in Iraq continues to deteriorate - fast. It seems incredible that in just a few weeks an “organisation” hardly anyone had heard of has now declared an Islamic State stretching across Iraq and into Syria. America is struggling to respond to this situation. So far the US has only sent military advisers. Russia however is reacting quickly. It has sent 12 warplanes to Iraq to help the Iraqi government defeat ISIS. So where does the Bible talk about these events - if at all? Well the Bible does talk about these events. In Isaiah 13. A prophecy that many might have considered to be purely an ancient prophecy fulfilled long ago. But in fact careful reading will prove that this chapter has a time of the end fulfilment. There are no less than 8 “time of the end” phrases in this one chapter. It is speaking about the national nightmare of Iraq. In verse 14 we read about everyone in Iraq running about like a hunted animal and trying to find their own people. It’s amazingly accurate picture – what follows is the end of Iraq….

Pope: Big Bang & evolution 'compatible with Creator'

The theory of the Big Bang is compatible with the Catholic Church's teaching on creation and belief in both is possible, Pope Francis has said. The Pope insisted that God was responsible for the Big Bang, from which all life then evolved.The Big Bang - the theory that the universe was born in a cosmic explosion about 13.7 billion years ago and has expanded and evolved since - "doesn't contradict the intervention of a divine Creator, but demands it," the Pope said.The beginning of the world was not "the work of chaos" but part of a divine plan by the Creator, he said. The Jesuit Pope made the remarks during an address to a meeting of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, which gathered at the Vatican to discuss "Evolving Concepts of Nature".

The Catholic teaching is…. out of creation came evolution. God (they say) did NOT create the heavens and the earth and all that is in it in 6 days. He did not create the plants and trees on day 3. He did not make man on day 6 etc. But how do you have creation and evolution? One species turning into another over time is basically saying that a frog will turn into a prince over billions of years!The Pope said this week that God isn’t some magician waving his magic wand and creating things. It is true that God does not need a wand. He spoke and it was instantly created. The Pope it seems finds that too hard to believe. When God made Adam he was made as a man. The scientist on the day Adam was made would tell you he must have lived for 30 years. But in fact Adam was only a day old! God made everything mature and very good. He spoke and it was created. Genesis 1 is fact and truth.

Pope Francis tells 'elderly' Europe to lead again

Pope Francis has urged an "elderly" and "haggard" Europe to overcome economic crises and rising nationalism to reclaim a global leadership role.In a speech to the European Parliament in Strasbourg, the pontiff also called on the European Union (EU) to help migrants fleeing the Middle East and Africa, saying it must not allow the Mediterranean to become a "vast cemetery".It was the first papal visit to the French city since John-Paul II in 1988, but where his predecessor came at the end of the Cold War, Francis faces a more secular and Eurosceptic continent riven by divisions and fears about the economy. "Europe seems to give the impression of being somewhat elderly and haggard, feeling less and less a protagonist in a world which frequently regards it with aloofness," the Pope said.

The Pope calls for Europe to reclaim global leadership. In Bible language this would read as follows. The woman of Revelation 17 (with Babylon Mother of Harlots written on her head) is riding (controlling) the scarlet beast with 7 heads and 10 horns. The woman encouraged the beast to come out of the bottomless pit that it has been in for a long time. So how do we know the woman is the Papacy and the beast is Europe? Well that is simple. Revelation 17:9 says that the woman sits on 7 hills. It is within the 7 hills of Rome that the entire Vatican City is confined. The beast with 10 horns links back to Daniel 7 – the 4th terrible beast. That beast is the 4th empire after Babylon. The 4th after Babylon was the Roman Empire – what we would now call Europe. The little horn in Daniel 7 is the Pope – so Revelation 17 and Daniel 7 are the same story. When Christ has returned the Papacy and Europe will wage war against him and the saints…
