  • What is CSWIP?Certification Scheme for Welding and/or Inspection Personnel (CSWIP) is a certification scheme of TWI group company (UK)A mark of competence for a wide range of people engaged in welding and/or inspection related jobs in building, operating, inspecting and repairing high integrity welded plant

  • Which CSWIP Certifications can you attain?

CSWIP 3.1CSWIP 3.2BGAS-CSWIP Painting Inspector Gr IBGAS-CSWIP Painting Inspector Gr II/III

  • CSWIP 3.1Objectivesto understand factors which influence the quality of fusion welds in steels to recognise characteristics of commonly used welding processes in relation to quality control to interpret drawing instructions and symbols to ensure that specification

  • CSWIP 3.1Codes and StandardsThe make up of typical application standards.TerminologyWelds, joints, weld face, toe, root, throat, leg length, HAZ, fusion boundary.Terminology for defects.ConsumablesThe identification of consumables to British, European, ISO and American standards.Coating types and fluxes. Shielding gas compositions. Electride and filler wire compositions. The storage and drying of electrodes and fluxes, matching consumables (electrodes with shielding gases, electrode with fluxes).

  • CSWIP 3.1Quality Control of WeldingThe implementation of quality controls and in-process inspection. Organization and recordsDestructive TestsThe selection and purpose of all destructive tests specified in standards. Assessment of resultsNon-destructive TestsThe methods, capabilities and limitations, and assessment of reports related to penetrant, magnetic particles, radiographic and ultrasonic testing of parent materials and welded joints

  • CSWIP 3.1Weld DefectsIdentification of defects. Reasons for their occurrence and acceptanceDistortionThe influence of welding techniques on distortion. The control of distortionThe influence of heat treatment and machiningReportingThe preparation of technical reports on all aspects of inspection referred to above

  • CSWIP 3.2Objectivesto understand the various facets of welding inspection and quality control to assess the validity of a welding procedure to recognise origins of weld defects to interpret features of a fracture surface and prepare detailed reports to scr

  • CSWIP 3.2Supervision of welding inspectors and record keeping Supervisory techniques and the duties of a supervisor including comprehensive record keepingCertification of Compliance Requirements of typical contracts, codes & specificationsNDTFactors affecting the detectibility of weld defects by the various NDT methods. A detailed knowledge of verification of NDT results and reports for conventional volumetric and surface methods. An outline knowledge of special NDT techniques.

  • NACEWhat is NACE?Objectives Which NACE Certifications can you attain?

  • What is NACE?NACE coating Inspector Program (CIP) training programs are the best and most comprehensive training programs in the industrial coating businessThis certification is geared towards persons involved with coatings projects inspectors, applicators, blasters, manufacturers, owners' representatives, specifiers, and technical salesmen

  • Objectives be a quality assurance program for the coatings industry, set easy-to-measure standards for knowledge and skills expectations of employees, improve the overall credibility and stature of the coatings industry worldwide.

  • Which NACE Certifications can you attain?NACE CIP Level INACE CIP Level II

  • NACE CIP Level IThis program covers the basics of corrosion that relates to industrial coatings

  • NACE CIP Level IIgeared to individuals who have already completed CIP Level Isteel and non-steel substrates as well as surface preparation, coating types, inspection criteriafailure modes for various coatings including specialized coatings and linings

  • Benefits in Descon Engineering Approval and Reimbursement Upon the successful completion of the course / examination, the Company shall reimburse the financial charges of attaining the certification to the employee. The 100 % reimbursable financial charges shall include the Training / Examination / Certification payment made by the employee to the Certifying Agency / Body. The reimbursable amount may also include any accrued Boarding / Lodging charges for the said purpose, but not exceeding AED / QR / SR 1000.00.

  • Benefits in Descon EngineeringRemunerationAs per the deployment criteria, each Project shall offer a minimum remuneration to the certified inspectors. The minimum salary for projects based in the Middle East shall be AED / SR / QR 3500.00 per month for an eight (08) hour workday. The employee will be paid whatever is greater of the two. If an Inspector attains certification during the course of a project, the remuneration package shall be increased by 40% of his existing salary, or to a minimum revised gross salary of AED / SR / QR 3500.00, whichever is higher, based on the required approval. On acquiring certification Inspectors deployed at projects in Pakistan would be given a raise equal to the 40% of his existing gross salary or to a minimum revised gross salary of PKR 25000/- whichever is greater of the two.
