Role Of Closed Cell PE Foam

Closed cell presentation

Closed cell foam made from Polyethylene which is known as PE foam of closed-cell that is blended with copolymers. A closed cell PE foam having properties like strong, resilient shock absorbing, vibration barrier as well as buoyancy component and having a high level of chemical cross-linking which results in the semi-rigid product having a fine uniform cell structure which is suitable for wide variety of applications in many ways like for cushioning products in packaging applications.

These foam have excellent buoyancy which is used in flotation equipment and other nautical products. It's also known as PE foam or LDPE foam that is a thermoplastic which is blown into a foam format. The most widely available PE foam is known as non-cross-linked foam. Closed cell PE foam having versatile nature because of which it is used in many ways like archery targets and long term storage, the bond breaker in masonry work.

It is also made in an Anti-Static formulation for the storage, packaging, and transportation of sensitive electronics. It is an effective replacement for many materials including felt, neoprene, natural rubber, polyurethane foam, PVC foam, wood composites, mineral wool and fibreglass.

This foam is formed in the mould, resulting in a sheet of foam known as a bun. The maximum length, width and thickness of the bun vary depending upon the foam's density. Polyethene and EVA Foam are considered as similar but Polyethylene is firmer and more resistant to heat and more cost effective than EVA Foam.

It also offers a better compression set. Closed foam PE foam is closed cell is lightweight, shatterproof and non-dusting with excellent buoyancy having a superb strength and tear resistance with superior chemical and grease resistance.

Closed cell PE foam including several uses in the broad range of industrial advantages as follows:

In Buildings used as Nail Washers, Expansion Joints, Glazing Seals, Impact Sound Deflect etc.In Footwear industry it used in wedges soles, runner, top line padding, moulded soles etc.Weather and chemical resistance including splash resistance to oils and fuels.

Having Acoustic and thermal insulation propertiesIn marine industry it is used in life jackets, oil boom floats, cockpit cushions etc.Buoyancy with low water absorption.

In Sports industry, it is used in Kick Boards, Trampoline Pads, Buoyancy Aids, Sports Mats, Toys and Games, Camping Bedrolls, Canoe seats, Body Protection etc.

As Appliances like Gaskets, Vibration Pads etc.

In Entertainment Industry like Costume creation, Sets and Pops.

In Automative Industry as a Gaskets and seats, Carpet Underlay, Interior Padding, Headliners.

Suitability for thermo-forming and thermo-moulding.

For Packaging in Cushion Packaging Foam, Corner Pads, Case Inserts, Display Packaging Foam etc.
