DEFINITION OF COMPUTER

The word Computer is derived from the word compute which

means to calculate.

Page 3: Rohit Kumar sagar present’s

Computer is an electronic device which can be used to

calculate and manipulate the problems

CHARACTERSTICS OF COMPUTER

There are some important charactersticsof computer which can

be given as below:

Page 5: Rohit Kumar sagar present’s

HIGH SPEED

The computer have the ability to do calculation with high speed in comparision to human calculation

Page 6: Rohit Kumar sagar present’s

ACCURACYThe accuracy means accurate the human beings sometime

not calculate the data correctly but the computer have such a good quality that it can give an accurate and correct solution

of our problems

Page 7: Rohit Kumar sagar present’s

STORAGE

Today the computer can store data in lot of amount the data may be like

pictures ,files,folders,imges,songs,vedios etc

Page 8: Rohit Kumar sagar present’s

DELIGENCE

The human beings can become tired after doing some work but computer have the property of deligence and it

can work regularly without any tiredness.

DEVICESDevices are the media by which we can work

on computer Generally the devices can be divided into

two types: 1 INPUT DEVICE

2 OUTPUT DEVICE

INPUT DEVICES

Input devices are those devices by which we can do inputting in our

computer

Page 12: Rohit Kumar sagar present’s

SOME INPUT DEVICES ARE GIVEN AS BELOW

KEYBOARD MOUSE

SCANNER

Page 13: Rohit Kumar sagar present’s

KEYBOARD

Keyboard is an input device. It is just similar to the typewriter. It contains

basically three types of keys i.e, Functional Keys,Alphanumeric Keys

and Speacial Purpose Keys

Page 14: Rohit Kumar sagar present’s

MOUSE

Mouse is also an input device it is also known as pointing device. Mouse can be used for open the

files, folders, options etcMouse can contains the two buttons known as

right click and left click which perform the different functions and have roller to see the file

up and down

Page 15: Rohit Kumar sagar present’s

SCANNER

Scaner is also an input device . It ca be used to convert the data of hard copy like

images ,text files etc into the soft copy and the converted copy can be seen on the

monitor of computer

Page 16: Rohit Kumar sagar present’s

OUTPUT DEVICES

Some output devices can be given as below:

MonitorPrinter

Speaker

Page 17: Rohit Kumar sagar present’s

MONITOR

Monitor is an output device . It is just similar to the TV

It can be used to see the output in the form of soft copy.

Page 18: Rohit Kumar sagar present’s

PRINTER

Printer is also an output device . It is mainly used to convert the data

of soft copy into hard copy

Page 19: Rohit Kumar sagar present’s

SPEAKER

Speaker is also an output device. It is used to create the sounds

ofany song file,click sounds etc.

MEMORY

Memory is the part of computer where the data can be stored . The

memory of our computer can be classified into two types:

Primary Memory Secondary Memory

Page 21: Rohit Kumar sagar present’s

PRIMARY MEMORY

Primary memory is a memory in which we can store data for a short period of time . We cannot store the

data permanently in primary memory.

Page 22: Rohit Kumar sagar present’s

Primary memory can also be classified into two types i.e,

Primary memory

RAM ROM

Page 23: Rohit Kumar sagar present’s

RAM

RAM stands on Random Access Memory. With the help of RAM we access data randomly. Ram also known as volatile

memory.

Page 24: Rohit Kumar sagar present’s

ROM

ROM stands on Read Only Memory. It can be used to read

the memory of a computer.

Page 25: Rohit Kumar sagar present’s

SECONDARY MEMORY

Secondary memory is the memory in which we can store the data permanently . few examples of our secondary memory can be

given as below: HARD DISKPEN DRIVE

MAGNETIC TAPES

Page 26: Rohit Kumar sagar present’s

HARD DISK

Hard disk is the part of our secondary memory. In secondary memory we can store data permanently we can store

data like files , folders , pictures , images etc. Today the size of our hard disk be about 80GB , 160GB , 320GB ,

500GB etc

Page 27: Rohit Kumar sagar present’s

PEN DRIVE

Pen drive also a type of secondary memory . It is the external secondary

memory . It can be connected with Universal Serial Bus(USB). Its benefit is that we can move our data from one

computer to another .

Page 28: Rohit Kumar sagar present’s

MAGNETIC TAPES

Magnetic Tapes are also the secondary device. Magnetic tapes can store data don the tapes which can be made of magnetic

coating . It stores data sequentially.
