We recommend that students alternate each year between Recertification and Rescue IV. RESCUE TECH II Recertification (30hrs) NFPA 1006 Confined Space Rescue RESCUE TECH III Recertification (40hrs) NFPA 1006 Confined Space & Rope Rescue COMPLIANCE WITH CERTIFICATION Certification by a qualified, independent third party to a national consensus standard (such as NFPA) can be used to document individual skills proficiency as required by OSHA 1910.146 Permit‐Required Confined Space Regulation. Roco’s certification programs are based on the guidelines and skills referenced in NFPA 1006 and 1670. Two levels of certification are offered including Rescue Tech II (Confined Space) and Rescue Tech III (Rope Rescue). ANNUAL COMPLIANCE OSHA’s Permit‐Required Confined Space Regulation (1910.146) requires timely and capable rescue services. It also requires that team members practice at least once annually in the types of representative spaces located in their response area. Roco programs focus on providing the skills and practice required in all six types of confined spaces.
