jIDAY, APRIL 10, 1936 r EASTER (By Etta W. Brantley) When the leaves are new on the oaken "spray, And the maples have donned their scarlet array, When wildflowers in little com- panies rise, Where April's warmest sunshine lies. When bluebirds sing in the apple tree, A hymn with the buzzing of the bee, And the scent of violets comes in my door, I know spring is here once more. When the Easter sparrow chants her song, To the idle flower, asleep so long, And the south wind whispers, soft and low, I think of an Easter long ago. When I was a girl, so happy and gay, Not a cloud along life's way, But the story is old, and sad, some- how, No one would care to hear it now But you remember well, I know, That lovely Easter of long ago. o FIRST CHURCH OF CHRIST SCIENTIST Sunday morning service 11 A.
