Dear Parents/Carers We are sorry to say that Mrs Steward has decided to leave us at Easter after many years working hard for both Surlingham and Rockland St Mary Primary Schools. She is looking forward to having time to spend on her many and varied interests. I am sure you will join us in thanking Mrs Steward for all she has done for the Federation schools over the past years. We will be saying goodbye to both Mrs Steward and Mrs Leach at the Surlingham school assembly on Friday 27 March. Rockland St Mary Primary School Newsletter – March 2015 Solar Eclipse 20th March 2015 9.30am We will be expecting all pupils to attend school as normal tomorrow. All classes will stream BBC i-player live to their interactive whiteboards in order to witness this exciting event. Parent Voice We will be holding the next series of Parent Voice meetings next week. The first will be held at Surlingham Primary School on Tuesday 24th March at 9am and the other later that day at 7pm at Rockland St. Mary Primary School. Parents are welcome to attend either and the themes are assessment in school and statutory end of year testing for Year 6, Year 2 and Year 1 Phonics and updates on SEN. FEHS Cluster KS1 Dance Festival Cygnets will be taking part in the FEHS Cluster Dance Festival at Framingham Earl High School on the morning of Wednesday 25th March, but will return in time for the Easter lunch! Whitlingham Outdoor Education Centre There are a number of exciting activities that have been planned for the children in conjunction with Whitlingham Outdoor Education Centre, as follows: Today the Cygnets took part in an Outdoor Adventure morning run by staff from Whitlingham Outdoor Education Centre in the school grounds. Next term Barn Owls will have an introduction to land based outdoor adventurous activities and personal safety. Dragonflies will also take part in land and water based outdoor adventurous activities, which will include canoeing and kayaking. All these activities will be funded through the PE grant provided to schools. School Office The school office will continue to be staffed from 8.30am to 4pm all week, but from next term the office will be covered on Friday mornings by Mrs Wilson who currently assists in the office at Surlingham.
