LOWER LOT PARKING SIGNS By now you have probably noticed the new parking signs in the lower lot for overflow parking. All permits for lower lot long-term parking have been updated as well. This allows for prompt contact should vehicles need moved in an emergency situation. Kudos to Ray Fischer, Paul Hemphill and Dave Hrycko who worked jointly to bring this project to completion. NEW GUARDRAILS We are pleased to have new guardrails placed along Rock Lake Drive, as well as a guardrail placed on West Court to replace the former wooden fence in that area. Aside from the damages to the original guardrail, the full length of the guardrail had to be replaced to bring it up to the current codes. The reflector attachments have been included, as well, and are a great addition for nighttime drivers. This work was done by Green Acres and was contracted through Jackson Township. RULES & REGULATIONS REMINDERS As the colder weather approaches, please remember there is no overnight street parking permitted. This enables snow plows to properly clear the roads of snow and ice for your safety. Also, please check your lamp posts to be certain the light bulbs and sensors are working properly, especially since our days are shorter and the lights are turned on for longer periods of time. NEIGHBORLY REQUEST Mr. Joseph Roman, whose property borders the portion of Rock Lake behind the clubhouse along the tree line, has requested that no brush or weeds be cut through the trees between Rock Lake and Mr. Roman’s road before the open clearing at Rock Lake Court North. Mr. Roman expressed concerns that cutting the brush causes runoff issues. In addition, Mr. Roman requests that no trees be planted along any of this property. In the past, there was a problem with dumping along this property, which is also not permitted. Mr. Roman kindly allows Rock Lake to use his property where we have the “dog park” on Rock Lake Court North. We would like to maintain a good working relationship with Mr. Roman as our neighbor and ask residents to respect these requests moving forward. ROCK LAKE STAFF VESTS The Board is in the process of obtaining high visibility vests labeled “Rock Lake Staff” for maintenance workers and volunteers to wear when performing duties around the community. Safety concerns were raised for the maintenance manager as well as those who inspect downspouts, manholes and other issues on our residents’ properties at various times. This will benefit our workers and will also help residents who may question workers in their yards. We are uncertain at this time when these vests will be available to us, so if you have any questions about individuals on your property, please do not hesitate to ask someone. The maintenance committee members have recently been checking downspouts and manholes without these vests, as reported in last month’s newsletter. 1 Paul Hemphill 15 Randy Householder 2 John Rombach 18 Ed Komoroski 5 Nancy Hamm 20 Carol Stauffer 10 Brittaney Berbach 25 Juanita Kratochvil (Daughter of Jeff and Shelley) 11 Tom Andrew 29 Nancy Ramsey 11 Ray & Janet Fischer 22 Ed & Arlene Komoroski 23 Jack & Jean Kludo ROCK LAKE VOICE NOVEMBER, 2019 www.rocklakenorth.org
